Freezes/Crashes Computer
I bought this hub a few weeks ago and have held off on leaving a review until I was sure it does not work well. I have had several different problems with this Hub on my 2016 Macbook Pro:- HDMI works very inconsistently, need to remove all other ports before plugging this one in. Half the time, I need to restart my computer for it to work- Every few days when this is plugged in, the computer literally makes a few sounds and crashes- When plugging this in, the entire Macbook stutters and is unusable. If the display ends up working the laptop starts functioning correctly, but if the display does not work then the entire Macbook is unusable unless unplugging the HubI'm not sure if I received a defective piece or not, but this only works 20% of the time, with a ton of unplug/replug/restart machine hassles. I have several other hubs that do not have ALL of the functionality this one has, but have no seen any problems with those

HDMI Port Sucks, Doesn't Work Consistently
Let me be clear: 80% of this product works fine and as described. The SD adapter, USB-ports, Thunderbolt connector, and the Ethernet port all function as described. However, the reason for the two-star review is the lack of a reliable HDMI output port in the adapter. The only time I can get it to work is if I restart my MacBook Pro with the adapter plugged in, otherwise the monitor gets no signal from the adapter.My MacBook acts as if I've connected an external monitor and I can even drag my mouse off screen to the external monitor as if I can see it, but the screen is still black. I really hate that I have to buy another Type C adapter because this one has everything I need or so I thought.Don't advertise that you HDMI port works and it only works in certain circumstances. Disappointed.

HDMI output doesn't work
The HDMI output of my unit is very finicky. I have to plug and unplug the unit from my MacBookPro multiple times in order to get my monitor to actually detect the connection. On top of that, when the monitor is connected, my internet speed slows to a crawl for some weird reason. Would not recommend buying this product.

The USB or HDMI ports will not work when charging the phone. Otherwise great... Drains battery very quickly.

Great.. i bought one from Promate prior to ...
Great.. i bought one from Promate prior to this. I like this better since it has more inputs (with LAN cable). It works well with my Macbook;Update Aug 2018.. after 6 months this started to work on and off until it completely died. . RIP

it kind of lags and it's very inconsistent when I plug it in if the monitor will register it or not. The change will occur on my computer side but not on the monitor...just sometimes.
