After a Week of Flattening, There’s improvement but these will never flatten out

Set is beautiful I flipped them over for a few days so the ends don’t curl up and perfect for the farmhouse decor.

These placemats don't lay flat, either before or after washing them. The corners curl up. I wouldn't buy them again because of that. The fabric quality is reasonable for a place mat, and I don't see any issues with the stitching of the lace border. But the corners are just not happy somehow.

The placemats are shipped rolled up to decrease the number of creases, although they still could use an ironing first or after using. I ironed them on a medium steam setting and that worked fairly well. Just about any kind of fabric with edging will pucker at least a little, so if you want something that will lay perfectly flat without any fuss, these might not be the best choice. On the other hand, if you want a linen/burlap look but something washable, these might work--for some stains. I found that Italian dressing left a stain even when washed with detergent. The lace edging gives them a dainty, old-fashioned feel while the burlap/linen look is perfect especially for a cottage or rustic contemporary look. While I have no idea how well they will last with repeated use, they would be perfect for an afternoon tea, shower, casual wedding, and other special events--and the price is very reasonable.
