Nymph Masters: Fly-Fishing Secrets from Expert Anglers

Outstanding book
I have many books on various methods of fly fishing and read a considerable amount during my long winter months when I can't fish, while I've lots of good books that cover specific methods and tactics this book is the best I've read so far that comprehensively covers a wide swath of nymphing methods and tactics, I loved the deep dive in the section of river hydraulics and the way the author tied it all together with effect of currents on nymphs and methods used, in a nutshell, I thought I knew a lot of "stuff" before I read the book, now I know a lot more "stuff".What I liked in particular was how the book tied together some things I'd learned from experience but couldn't really understand why it happened that way.By the way, no disrespect to all the other books I've read on specific nymphing methods and tactics.

Well written with a lot of very useful information. The only weakness to me was the difference in our respective opinions on how to effectively nymph certain situations. Specifically, the author changed his nymphing rig to overcome specific obstacles. Whether he did this to take advantage of the experience he would gain with the particular accompanying expert or not, I don't know. My preference is to slightly modify my nymphing rig (e.g. add more weight, remove the strike indicator) rather than a complete change over to a different nymphing method. It also reduces the amount of stuff I carry, and I don't spend time rigging.

A Must Read!
This book is easy to read and rich in information, all while being visually appealing. I have been fortunate to see some of the techniques mentioned in this book in action and put them to use myself. It was a cool winter day and the only way I could catch fish was with Randall's nymphing techniques. I had an incredibly productive day thanks to what I've learned from the author. I strongly recommend buying this book today and you can be sure that you'll improve every one of your fishing trips from here on out.

Entertaining and Informative
This book combines all that I like in an outdoor book. The writing is both extremely informative and very entertaining at the same time. The photographs are beautifully and professionally done and the illustrations are also well done and do not try to communicate too much information at once. Combining the basic knowledge of fly fishing with the experience and expertise of the masters gives anyone from beginner to expert something to learn. I am a beginner and spend half my time on the river untangling bird's nests and fishing flies out of trees (details nobody tells you about when you start this pastime) but still took much away from this book. Recommend it highly

Bad digital copy.
The digital copy is very bad, pictures and illustration are blurry on the most part. Buy the book not the digital copy. Hope I get a refund.

Excellent book for fly fishing.
I am about half way into this book and it is very educational, has good photos and is easy to read. I heard the author speak at a seminar and consider this money well spent!!

first class advice for nymph fishers
Jason Randall’s “Nymph Masters” is an excellent practical guide for anyone who wants to improve their nymph fishing skills. With clear and concise writing and excellent informative photography, Jason blends together the scientific observations from his first three books with practical ideas from some of the best nymph fishermen around. His last chapter provides nice biographies of the nymph masters he consulted and many innovated and up to date fly patterns that you can try. After 50 plus years of fly fishing I am looking forward to trying so many new techniques. Well done.

NYMPH MASTERS
Excellent book for those unfamiliar with nymph fishing, from an overview of almost all techniques, there are interventions from many internationally renowned fishermen, personally I appreciated it even if I expected something more technical, I participated in competitions flyfishing for over thirty years and, without wanting to take anything away from this beautiful book, personally I prefer another kind of book, more technical, for example "Tactical Fly Fishing" by Devin Olsen or the two books by George Daniel, books with which I can compare their way of fishing with mine and, perhaps, I find information that helps me to improve my technique too.

Great nymphing book
I've read countless great books on various aspects of nymph fishing and think this one is the most practical and covers all enough aspects well enough to make it a great comprehensive guide to nymph fishing, beautifully finished quality paper also.
