These casually drawn, perfectly on-point comics by the hugely popular young Brooklyn-based artist Sarah Andersen are for the rest of us. They document the wasting of entire beautiful weekends on the internet, the unbearable agony of holding hands on the street with a gorgeous guy, and dreaming all day of getting home and back into pajamas. In other words, the horrors and awkwardnesses of young modern life. Oh and they are totally not autobiographical. At all. Adulthood Is a Myth presents many fan favorites plus dozens of all-new comics exclusive to this book. Like the work of fellow Millennial authors Allie Brosh, Grace Helbig, and Gemma Correll, Sarah's frankness on personal issues like body image, self-consciousness, introversion, relationships, and the frequency of bra-washing makes her comics highly relatable and deeply hilarious. Review: Brilliant! - Absolutely love this. Bought it for my sister as a birthday gift however had a cheeky read of it myself first! I love the velvet touch on the front cover first of all, the touch of colour is a great contrast. I originally saw some of the comics around Facebook so am aware of the author and had this recommened for me. The book itselfs tells the truth about adulthood, about how most of us don't have it together. True introverts will relate to this entirely, I know I do! Great laughs with this book and not too expensive either. A great read and am definitely considering buying other works from Sarah based on this book alone. The art style is adorable and I really enjoyed this product. Review: Just a book of lovely - The most perfect collection of joy to be found betwixt any covers anywhere... apart from "Big Mushy Happy Lump". Occasionally poignant, oft times hilarious, it's just a lovely little bundle of cartoons that I'm pretty sure every one of my lady friends will agree with, sympathise with, relate to and giggle at. If it were up to me, I'd recommend a copy to anyone who finds the female element of our species a bit tricky to fathom (I personally use it as a reference text and I am a woman. Speaks volumes, no?). Serving suggestion: big comfy jumper, large glass of wine, fuzzy socks, and a sofa :)

Delightful scribbles.
For those familiar with Sarah's Scribbles, it is more of the same. For those new to her work, it is a collection of charming little cartoons which will ring a bell to most situations in your life, especially if you're a female. Delightful stuff overall.

This spoke to me as if it was especially written for me- as a writer this is this is what you inspire to do. It was funny and at times made u laugh out loud! I spent an evening reading this with my wife and she kept pointing at a page going this is you and via Versa to them. This book is a must read! It is beautiful put together, from the graphic drawing to the words on the page. If this a gift for your self or someone then then this is amazing gift!!

simply adorable
Amazing! Sarah is alway great... Funny, but in a very intelligent way. Most people will find at least something in common with the main character of these scribbles... For me, it's everything! That's way I absolutely adore her comics, it feels like me... And she makes it cool to be me, even when my greatest accomplishment is finding a pair of clean and matching socks, or my summertime hobby is sleeping!!

I personally think she's brilliant, this was a gift and I haven't had feedback but I find her cartoons quirky and Calvin and Hobbes esque, lots of charm and commentary on life.

I found Sarah on Instagram and fell in love with her comics
I saw this in a shop in Melbourne two years ago, and I wanted to buy it so badly, but I had to be somewhere and didn't have time to buy it. Since then, I found Sarah on Instagram and fell in love with her comics. I then found this book on Amazon/Book Depository and I ordered it straight away. I'm so pleased to have a paper copy of her comics, something I can treasure and enjoy forever!

So relatable
love the online Sarah Scribbles comics so when I saw the author was producing a book, I immediately pre-ordered it. It's taken me a few months to get to, but I finished it within a night. The content is down-to-earth but in a humorous way. Andersen bases her comics on the awkward but true things in some of our lives. The art itself is simple but cute, and some of the facial expressions have me cracking up. "Sarah" is so relatable that it isn't even funny. I spent my night reading this, snickering, chuckling, laughing out loud, reading parts to my husband, and showing him parts that fit him to a tee. He seemed to enjoy what parts I showed him as well. If you're a fan of irony and humor in real-life situations, chances are you'd probably enjoy Sarah's Scribbles. Check out the Facebook page and if it seems up your alley, I highly recommend getting this book. I've seen some of the pages in here online but others are new and the book itself is good quality. The red fuzzy material on the cover is a nice added touch. Will be buying all future books!
