Great children's book and very informative!

This book combines roughly 3 pages of pure biography with an account of the history and results of Lewis and Clark's journey. It includes a very good map and great illustrations, especially of the boats. Adler weaves in excerpts from the journals (be ready to help your child with some spellings) and does a great job conveying the vastness of America. However, this book does not really capture how brave the explorers were.

The material good for my granddaughters and grandsons, lest no one teach them of our history and the openness to discovery and learning that I find missing from the young students I have in the 4th through the eighth grades.

Bought for my 4 year old and it's too advanced. More for early elementary.
