it says something about leaving it for 30 mins then washing off, so do i need to keep the cats & dogs off the area im cleaning until i wash it off?

I have not washed it off normally, just let it dry. But I have kept the cats and dogs away until it has dried. It is a disinfectant. If it doesn’t get time to work before the cats and dogs are allowed back, using it is a waste of effort. Once in a while I have washed it off, Mainly because it leaves a slight residue, It doesn’t seem to affect the animals unlike bleach which is strongly irritant.

Does this effectively kill ringworm spores on surfaces?

Yes this is what we used on our yard for that purpose.. Make sure you spray your tools too and handles
