Liquitex Professional Acrylic Varnish, High Gloss, 118 ml

I’ve tried a few varnishes over the years, but this Liquitex High Gloss Varnish has become my favourite. It goes on smoothly, levels beautifully, and leaves a gorgeous glossy finish that really makes the colours in my acrylic paintings pop. I especially love how it brings out the depth and vibrancy without looking plasticky. It dries clear, gives my artwork a professional finish, and has become the final step in every painting I create. If you’re looking for a reliable high-gloss varnish that enhances your work, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try.

One of the better varnishes I’ve used. Apply 2 coats for professional finish. I used it for decoupaged items I was making. Easy to apply. Can be used on a multitude of decoupage surfaces, or at least it worked for me. Looks white but dries clear.

A good varnish, makes my mini paintings look nice and satiny, not overly glossy. I applied two coats to the image in the photos/video. It advises 3 hours drying time between each coat. The photos of the item look deceiving (like most product photos), always check the size in the description. I made the mistake of assuming it was the same size as the W&N varnish I see in The Range, same shape bottle. It's not, it's smaller than the W&N and therefore a little pricier in respect to the amount. When this is used I'll definitely try the W&N brand. However I've always like Liquitex, their products are good quality. Can't say any different about this one.

I bought the Liquitex Professional Acrylic Varnish (High Gloss) as a step up from a cheaper varnish I had been using, which honestly caused me nothing but problems. The previous one was far too runny and dried far too quickly, making it really difficult to work with—it would drag, streak, and sometimes even ruin the finish of my pieces. This varnish was recommended to me, and the difference is night and day. The first thing I noticed is how much more workable it is. It doesn’t dry too quickly, which gives you plenty of time to properly spread it and get an even coat. That alone made a massive difference to my crafting process—no more rushing or panicking about it setting before I’ve finished. It also doesn’t drip like the thinner varnishes I’ve used before, which is a huge plus, especially when working on curved surfaces like baubles. I was able to control it much better and achieve a clean, even application without mess. In terms of finish, it’s absolutely lovely. It gives a smooth, high-gloss, almost glass-like look that really elevates the final product and makes it look much more professional. Exactly what I was hoping for. I did find that two coats were needed to get the best result, but that’s not a problem at all—in fact, it helps build up that depth and shine. Overall, I’m really impressed with this varnish. It’s easy to work with, forgiving, and delivers a beautiful glossy finish. I’ll definitely be sticking with this one going forward. Highly recommended for anyone doing crafts or decorative work where you want a professional, glassy finish.

Good quality, as described

I've tried this on wood & glass. On acrylic painting on wood it is great, it gives a nice shine after 3 thin coats. It dries really quickly between coats and doesn't smudge the paint underneath (some spray varnishes I've tried do). It's waterproof and the items I've painted have been fine outside in the rain. I've put 2 pictures to show what the varnish looks like on wood but the same bottle has gone a long way and has coated lots of windchimes, wood slices, bird houses, big houses etc. It's lasted much longer than I expected it too as the bottle seems comparatively small compared to a spray varnish. It does dry on glass and protect the painting but if there is any clear glass left showing then you can clearly see the brush marks or ridges in it (I didn't like the finish when using a sponge either). I have recently seen a video of someone varnishing by rubbing varnish on with their hands onto glass, it wasn't this brand but I'm going to try it to see if it works any better, although I'm skeptical it'll be as nice a finish as I want and will probably just keep using it for any wood items I paint.

Easy to use dries quick with out leaving chunks or any white tint for the size and price it not as worth it tho as it is small but the quality is good. Very very shiny tho 👌

Worked fast and made the paint look glossy and nice. Sadly it do ruin the brush since i cant find a way to neutralise the gloss but thats on me and not the product!

It looks like a very shiny varnished when it dries. Very good product.I will buy it again.

Sehr guter Firnis mit Glanz-Optik. Ich suchte einen welcher Acrylgemälde edel abschließt und dadurch ein wenig aufwertet. Die Nutzung ist kinderleicht, bei einem größeren Gemälde sollte man auf einen weichen und breiten Pinsel zurückgreifen, sodass keine Schlieren entstehen und wenn diese doch aufkommen sind diese nach dem zweiten bis dritten auftragen allerspätestens weg. Aufgrund des Glanzes stechen Erhebungen hervor und das Bild wirkt noch ein wenig dunkler, dies ist wie ich finde jedoch nicht gravierend. Außerdem werden die Farben verstärkt und scheinen stärker. Die Lieferung verlief wie immer sehr schnell. Immer wieder!
