Yardlock Keyless Wooden Gate Combination Lock Kit

Very good product, ideal solution for our side access gate. It was easy to install, a 9mm drill bit works fine if you don't have a 3/8" bit.Do ensure you feed the cable through the hole before mounting the external box...a gust of wind locked me out!

I searched and researched for days for the best keyless wooden gate lock. There's plenty of similar locks out there, but remember 'Keyless' is the key word! And none of the others have the versatility and security that this Yardlock has.Although this is not without it's flaws, this has still got to be the best lockable latch and keyless security gate lock on the market. But maybe that's because it's the ONLY one of this type on the market?You can open and walk out by pressing the internal latch - and once shut, the lock will close behind and stay locked. From the outside going in, the lock opens by selecting your selected number combination. Pull down the 'box' and the latch unlocks [remember to jumble up the combination when you enter, otherwise the latch will be unlocked for someone else to simply pull down on the external box and open your gate]. However, you can always exit out by pressing the internal latch wether the number combination is aligned or jumbled up.From the inside, you have to push on the thin edge of the metal latch the also houses the spring hook connection. Because the latch is covered by the plastic [polycarbonate] guard - you can't see the actual latch hook where you press. Would be nice to have had a 'button' surface area on the latch mechanism to establish the best area to push instead of feeling blindly for the thin metal edge.A little tricky in alignment and assembly. Its a fine balance in establishing the height to position the lock. The quarter circle latch guard prevents anyone from reaching over the top of your gate and pressing the internal latch open.So, you have to make sure don't position it too high to make it easier for someone to reach over the top and under the internal latch guard. But if you position it too low, you'll have a hard time seeing/reading the numbers on the combination.Good materials and build quality with overall simple ingenuity in its design [but also a bit overpriced for what you get and its simplicity]. There's room for a design improvement (and a price reduction) but overall we're very pleased.

the gate latch part of the lock has started to rust after only being fitted for 3 months, also the design of the inside latch is terrible it is incredibly hard to use.

It's a good idea but the lock itself isn't any good. Perhaps with a few modifications and a dramatic price reduction it would be ok?

Very good idea. Works well but design could be better. From the outside opening the latch is fine, however, from the inside it is fiddly and there is a risk of cutting yourself.

Ideal for a side gate that needs regular internal and external access. VERY easy to follow video for installation, but worth checking you have an extra long 9mm drill bit or you’ll need to order one at the same time. Sturdy feeling and works like a dream. No wonder there’s a patent pending!

This was just what I was looking for - a gate lock secure from the outside and easy from the inside. My only criticism is that the bit you push from the inside should have a flat part to make it easier to identify and push. It was also easy to install and appears robust.

This is works great from the outside when you’re putting in the code etc. But, what I only figured out after installing it is that it’s virtually impossible to open from the inside! There’s a hard spring that pushes the latch down and it’s almost impossible to lift it from the inside of the gate to open it. Bit of a fatal design floor you don’t figure out until it’s installed.

installation didnt go as smoothly as I wanted but its operational and it works! I've had stuff stolen from my backyard so this is value add for me. We tend to leave it unscrambled during the day so people can come and go but at night the last thing i do is scramble the combo and unscramble it first thing in the morning. If the kids are our late and come home late they can get in; thieves can't. Perfect!
