Mac Os X El Capitan 10.11 8Gb Bootable USB Flash Drive Install Upgrade

I had just about given up all hope of getting my aged MacBookPro (early 2008).Model Name: MacBook ProModel Identifier: MacBookPro4,1Processor Name: Intel Core 2 DuoProcessor Speed: 2.6 GHzNumber of Processors: 1Total Number of Cores: 2L2 Cache: 6 MBMemory: 4 GBBus Speed: 800 MHzI had almost given up and resigned myself to using this as 'a Linux test system'. And was somewhat nervous about purchasing stated install media, given the plethora of 'bogus' options available stating they are installable. but having read the reviews I was encouraged to give this a go ..... so glad I did! I had long since - and foolishly - discarded my early Mac OS X DVD's, and tried many means of downloading and creating bootable MAC OS X USB's, but all required an older Mac system as a base from which to build such media. Whilst the MacBook is no longer my main system, it is one I am fond of and really wanted to see it once again running the OS it was intended for.I had none of the potential issues others have reported such as date, etc., the installation went smoothly once I had used the Utilities menu to erase/reformat the HDD back to OS X Extended. Installation time about 1.5 hrs including adding my iCloud profile, and updating to OS X 10.11.6.This was money very well spent, and have absolutely no reservations in recommending this option to anyone wishing to recover their system.Thank you !!!!!

Just follow instructions and your ready to go, no problems with the upgrade.

It was possible, eventually, for me to use this pen drive as intended, to re-install el capitan on my imac. but, the instructions did not really help initially and I wasted a lot of time getting the install to work. Using advice that I had to go and seek on the internet, I discovered that the install of el capitan would only complete without error if you changed the system date of your imac to a date prior to October 2015. Otherwise, I got an error concerning the fact that the install file could not be verified which is apparently due to the fact the the certificate is out of date. I think the instructions that come with the pen drive should be modified accordingly to save other people wasting a lot of time, like me.

Beware! Reset your MacBook at your peril.I was trying to 'factory reset' my daughter's MacBook (running el Capitan) but things went horribly wrong. The repair utility will happily wipe your HDD clean but won't download a fresh OS because Apple appears to have removed el Capitan (and probably other old versions) from their store - effectively rendering the MacBook useless.My daughter was not amused.Research uncovered a number of ways of reinstalling the OS but nearly all assume you have a working Mac. I just killed mine. The only way left was a bootable installation disk which I bought from Amazon.The instructions were adequate and seemed thorough. They did get a non apple user through the setup without any real problems. Once the install process starts, the whole thing took just under an hour for this MacBook Pro (2010). Just walk away and leave it. Ignore the countdown messages that tell you '1 second til complete'. They lie!!After install and reboot I had a virgin factory fresh MacBook and a happy daughter.

It didn't work when connected it didn't display as any storage on it. It's completely fried no use just e waste . Waste of money

Great Product, if your mac has crashed or you just want a fresh install.After asking many seller, decided to buy from FigoComputers with Prime and was delivered same day.The seller is very helpful and includes email/telephone/viber/whatsapp live support. I made a phone call and in few minutes the installation went live.Also its important you dont plug this usb in a WINDOWS MACHINE, as you wont be able to browse the files and you can possible damage the format of usb and make it not bootable.How to install1 - Turn off Machine2 - Insert usb stick3 - Turn on Machine4 - When hear chime or as soon as screen turns on press and hold alt for 5 seconds and release afterward.5 - Choose to boot from usb6 - After few minutes you will get to the installation page.7 - If you wish to upgrade just click install OS X8 - If want to go for a fresh install From Utilities select Disk Utility9 - Select the Hard Drive and click erase as OS EXTENDED JOURNALED10 - Close disk utility and continue OS X installation.Very happy with my purchase.

As tried to go with instructions but no joy

J'étais sous OS X El Capitan, tous les jours la mise à jour vers Mojave m'était proposée ... un jour j'en ai eu marre et j'ai fait la mise à jour ... grosse erreur, mon Mac s'est mis à fonctionner très mal et certains logiciels ne fonctionnaient plus du tout. J'ai essayé plusieurs retours arrière par internet, hélas jamais réussis, mon Mac a fini par être en panne. En 10 mn j'ai réinstallé El Capitan grace à cette clé et tout baigne depuis. Je recommande vivement ;)
