Amazing!
This is an amazing CPU! I finally bit the bullet and upgraded from my AMD 1055T, I didn't want to get another AMD and went straight for this. Gaming is significantly smoother than it used to be and as a benchmark of how much of an improvement this CPU made I went from not being able to get more than 60fps in BF4 on Ultra settings to now 100fps. I also run World Community Grid on my computer, quite simply it enables your computer to participate in research for humanitarian causes by running CPU intensive calculations. The time to process one task has halved! What's more is I was able to overclock this, despite it not being a K edition, thanks to the Gigabyte BIOS not restricting it.

Fast, Froogle on Power, Fun and Future Proof........
Full retail processor with stock fan brand new and sealed. Haven't run core temps yet so will update on that later. It is low powered and very fast. You are not going to be having any problems running virtual machines or multiple applications with heavy processor demands, I mean just how good does a 65w processor get. My tip is to set a watch on this and wait until the price drops then get in there quick and get yourself this great processor at a bargain price. You'll get some years out of this wonderful chip.

Does it necessarily ensure ability to run WIN 11 as expected from running WIN 11 support software.
Works well enough upgrading Dell optiplex to max performance given existing equipment

Great processor depending on your requirements
This is the i7-6700 (non-K) processor, so not the overclocking capable K version which costs more.I decided on the i7-6700 (and so the Z170 chipset) rather than the i7-5820K (X99 chipset) primarily based on price and usage needs. The total cost of i7-6700 and Z170 motherboard was 350 pounds versus for the i7-5820K and X99 motherboard would be over 500 pounds.True the i7-6700 only has 4 cores, while the i7-5820K has 6 cores, but this is sufficient for gaming, microsoft office and web browsing. If I was doing video editing or using other intensive apps then the i7-5820K would be a better choice. Also at the time of writing a method of overclocking these non-K processors has been discovered (BCLK unlock), and motherboard manufacturers are said to be pushing out BIOS updates to allow this, so overclocking these non-K processors may be a possibility soon.

Great performance processor.
Very fast CPU. Having picked this up for the same price as my previous i5 4690k, I have noticed quite a performance boost in CPU intensive programs because of hyperthreading.CPU runs cool at idle at 28 degrees with my Cooler Master 412S on silent preset. This processor is also Overclockable using the Base clock method on most Z170 motherboards which allows you to have a much cheaper i7 6700k.

More FPS by the buckets...
Fantastic, i am not a Intel or AMD fanboy but this is my first Intel CPU since having a Pentium II (preferred AMD before due to lower prices ,family man has to cut costs) , since this one has come down to affordable price i decided to give my PC a boost and boy does it fly.I had a AMD FX8320 before ,which is not a dreadfull chip but the change is quite something. My heavily modded Skyrim went up by over 20FPS in average so i am happy ,so definately a gamers choice.I also purchased a ASUS Z170-A Motherboard to go with this and the installation process was completely trouble free (i love the ASUS quality and their BIOS, 3rd ASUS mobo in a row for me) ,just had to put it together and install Windows etc.. and thats it ..marvelous.Higly recommended CPU.

Very noisy stock cooler
The stock cooler is horrible - very noisy and not good at cooling. Considering this is the 65W, non OC version, I expected more. I am not really bothered by the temp, but it really is way too noisy, even when I set my BIOS to silent mode (keep the clock low when nothing intensive is done). When I start gaming - oh my, it sounds like my PC will fly away any moment.
