Fantastic filter media to be used as a settlement media, like a pre filter.I have the Fluval FX4 filter and I use this in the very base edges of the bucket. No media is meant to go in there but this is the area where water flows first therefore it catches the largest of detritus and prevents the foams from becoming clogged up so quickly.Highly recommended.I would suggest this is better than the plastic stuff.However, do remember that this is smooth ceramic it does not serve as bio media at all and should be used in conjunction with bio media also.

Using these in an All Pond Solutions filter. They do the job just as described. Cannot comment on longevity yet.

Bought for an external filter to increase the biological filtration, all seems good.

Great for pre-filtering. Sponges no longer clog up as this pre-filter tramps most of the particles. Easy to clean, hard wearing by the looks of it.

My fish need them to live so yes they do exactly what it said on the Label. :)

These are the worst ceramic rings i have ever purchased, they are far to smooth like they are glazed, i run them for 3 months in aquarium and looked exactly the same afterwards no bacteria could could colonize on them. Changed to a different ceramic ring that was rough on the texture and porous, what a difference the bacteria really settled on them and doing there job.
