I have short, lightly wavy, thick, coarse hair. Would this make vertical waves along the sides? Will coating make hair shiny?

I like it and it doesn’t make vertical waves on the side it straight your hair and makes it shiny

I returned it within 30 days got a new one with know problem. I would purchase a warranty if they offer it.
