I really LOVE this Game, though on my surfing the Internet, I found many have not been very kind to it; they think it’s way too simple a concept, and almost nobody seems to be happy with the title, simply ‘The Game’. Unimaginative it might be, and whilst I would agree perhaps it could have had a different and more interesting name, the actual game is really very good. It’s also very challenging. I have played this game now many times, and so far the cards have not ‘come out’ for me. It’s very addictive, and so winning is a bonus, but you get so much pleasure from simply ‘playing’. (if you’re not a sore loser!)I quite like the design of the cards (as simple as it is) as there is a skull in shadow backdrop which implies perhaps the difficulty of the challenge, and in the cards actually ever ‘coming out’.To date there have been two Expansions; the first ‘On Fire’ - the second ‘Extreme’. I currently have these on order, but am sure they will prove to be every bit as good as this!I believe this makes a far better solitaire game than perhaps a co-operative one, and I imagine perhaps this is why some people are not quite satisfied with it. As an individual challenge, for me, this is much better!I purchased this specifically for solo play only.Great game!

Bought as a quick family game, ticked all the boxes and even our youngest (8) was playing in no time. Beaten it just once so far in a 2 player game which was very satisfying, much tougher with more people as you see that killer set of moves evaporate.

The Game, despite it's perversely un-Googleable name, is a great game, that is very simple to learn, and I have successfully played on quite a few occasions with people who 'don't play games'. It's a 2-5 player coop (I think there's actually also a solitaire mode, but I've never tried it), that works better with more players. A little mathematical/puzzle-like, but generally pretty accessible.Rules are in German, but you can easily find an English version online.

Great game but an English version would be very helpful. Can find the rules on their website but it's tricky to find them. Maybe a German and English version in the pack would be helpful.Fast delivery, no issues with supplier.

Simple but riveting game. This kept two 10 year old boys occupied for 40 minutes to the exclusion of other super board and cars games on offer. They were determined to work together to beat the game but haven’t managed to yet. Don’t worry about the German instructions, you can get English ones online and it’s very simple. Highly recommended.

Fantastic game. Extremely frustrating that the instructions are all in German and you have to pay a LOT more for a pack with English instructions. Fortunately was taught to play by a German speaker, but many people might have to rely on Google translate!! It's good to have a game that is co-operative amongst the players rather than competitive. Quite addictive!

Great for family night. Concept of working together to beat the game is a nice change.

We love playing this simple game. This particular purchase came with instructions in German, but we knew the rules from an English version that we had been given. The basic rules are also available at boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/173090/game. The website doesn't give the exact number of cards to start with depending on the number of players. We bought the German version because for some reason it was MUCH cheaper than the English version.

Ich habe vor Kurzem "The Game – Das Kartenspiel" ausprobiert und möchte meine Eindrücke mit euch teilen. Das Spiel hat mich von Anfang an fasziniert, da es nicht nur ein einfaches Kartenspiel ist, sondern eine echte Herausforderung für die gesamte Gruppe darstellt. Was mich besonders angesprochen hat, ist das kooperative Element: Man spielt nicht gegeneinander, sondern als Team gegen das Spiel selbst. Nur wenn alle gut zusammenarbeiten, hat man eine Chance, zu gewinnen.Die Regeln sind einfach, aber die Umsetzung ist alles andere als leicht. Man hat vier Stapel, auf die man Karten legen muss – zwei davon gehen aufsteigend, die anderen absteigend. Das klingt zunächst simpel, aber schon nach wenigen Runden merkt man, dass es echte Strategie und Abstimmung erfordert, um nicht in eine Sackgasse zu geraten. Das Spannende ist, dass man sich nicht mit konkreten Zahlenwerten absprechen darf. Stattdessen muss man sich darauf verlassen, dass die Hinweise der Mitspieler hilfreich sind und man die Gedankengänge der anderen richtig interpretiert. Dieser Aspekt verleiht dem Spiel eine spannende Dynamik und sorgt für viel Kommunikation innerhalb der Gruppe. Die Herausforderung besteht darin, auf subtile Weise zu kommunizieren, was hilfreich sein könnte, ohne zu viel zu verraten.Ich fand es besonders spannend, wie sich mit jeder Runde die Dynamik verändert hat. Man beginnt, die Spielzüge der anderen besser zu verstehen und versucht, hilfreiche Tipps zu geben, ohne zu konkret zu werden. Es ist ein wenig so, als ob man ein Puzzle zusammensetzt, bei dem jedes Teilchen von jemand anderem kommt – man muss sich auf das Bauchgefühl und die kleinen Hinweise verlassen. Es ist verblüffend, wie intensiv und nervenaufreibend ein Kartenspiel sein kann, wenn man wirklich auf die anderen angewiesen ist und das Gefühl hat, dass jede Entscheidung die letzte sein könnte.Ein weiterer Punkt, der mir gefallen hat, ist die Tatsache, dass das Spiel nie langweilig wird. Jede Runde ist anders und bringt neue Herausforderungen mit sich. Die ständige Ungewissheit und die Notwendigkeit, aus den Fehlern zu lernen und besser zu werden, machen jede Partie zu einem spannenden Erlebnis. Es war hilfreich, dass das Spiel relativ schnell erklärt und gespielt werden kann – perfekt für einen Spieleabend, bei dem man nicht ewig mit den Regeln beschäftigt sein möchte.Was mir besonders gut gefallen hat, war der Moment, in dem man merkt, dass alle im gleichen Boot sitzen und das gleiche Ziel verfolgen. Dieses Gefühl der Gemeinsamkeit und die kleinen Erfolgserlebnisse, wenn ein riskanter Spielzug doch noch aufgeht, sind unglaublich befriedigend. Die kurzen, aber intensiven Diskussionen darüber, was in einer bestimmten Situation am hilfreichsten wäre, sind das Herzstück des Spiels und machen "The Game" zu einem echten Erlebnis.Für mich war "The Game – Das Kartenspiel" eine erfrischende Abwechslung zu den vielen kompetitiven Spielen, die man sonst so spielt. Es war nicht nur ein Spiel, sondern auch eine Art Teamtraining, bei dem man lernt, aufeinander zu hören und zusammen an einem Strang zu ziehen. Das macht es nicht nur unterhaltsam, sondern auch äußerst hilfreich, um die Teamdynamik zu stärken. Wer also auf der Suche nach einem herausfordernden und zugleich verbindenden Spiel ist, sollte "The Game" auf jeden Fall ausprobieren.

Es un juego cooperativo en el que todos los jugadores compiten contra el juego, por así decirlo. A nosotros y nuestros amigos nos encanta. Las instrucciones vienen en alemán, pero están en español en internet. Al resto del juego no le afecta nada el idioma. Nosotros somos muy jugones y lo recomendamos sin dudarlo.

* * * introduzione * * *inizio col dire che il gioco è completamente in tedesco, potete trovare le istruzioni in inglese direttamente nel sito del produttore in formato PDF! non fatevi spaventare dalla lingua teutonica, nelle carte non troverete altro che...un numero, quindi non c'è niente da leggere a parte il piccolo manuale di gioco.* * * recensione * * *Fatta questa premessa posso dire che il gioco è veramente semplicissimo da imparare, la meccanica è elementare: ci sono due colonne di carte che devono salire dall'1 verso il 100 e due colonne che invece devono scendere dal 100 verso l'1: obiettivo del gioco è finire il mazzo di carte (98 in totale, contrassegnate da numeri che vanno da 2 a 99) e piazzarle tutte nelle 4 colonne semplicissimo a dirsi, decisamente meno a farsi. la variante con le carte "fiamma" rende il tutto ancora più complicato..vi troverete a dire "facciamo questa e poi basta", e magicamente avrete giocato diverse ore senza rendervene conto :)E' giocabile in solitario e fino a 5 giocatori (tutti insieme "contro" il gioco), dà il meglio di sé quando viene giocato in 4: l'importante è non parlare tra i giocatori dicendosi le carte che si hanno, altrimenti diventa tutto troppo facile :)* * * conclusioni * * *Consigliato a tutti, anche a chi si avvicina ai giochi di carte per la prima volta, l'assenza di strani elementi e complicate meccaniche lo rendono appetibile anche a chi fin'ora ha giocato solo con le carte francesi a burraco o scala 40 e vuole provare qualcosa di un po' diverso!Il costo veramente esiguo (12€ spedizioni incluse al momento della recensione) lo rendono un must-buy da avere nella propria collezione dei giochi da tovolo e società :)
