impactful read for managers
Very impactful for managers. Enjoyed reading it and learning about management in a way that didn’t feel textbook ish but quite real and relatable. Is even recommend for managers outside of Engineering. Even though there are some engineering specific bits, it’s largely more about the personal relations of management, team building and self development.

The book I wish I had when I started managing, but it hadn't been written yet
Whether you're currently leading a team of software engineers, considering a managerial role in the software engineering field, or simply a software engineer eager to know how to be effectively managed, then please read this book.

Excellent, relatable and actionable - the best engineering management book I've read!
Engineering management for the rest of us is relatable, well written, and full of great advice for anyone who wants to help their teams thrive. It's a book for engineers who want to be managers, managers who want to be better, and individual contributors who want to manage up. It's written with vulnerability and framed with humorous anecdotes and personal stories that make it effortless to read. Sarah does an incredible job at explaining some of the more difficult concepts in management, such as how to give feedback, how to manage conflict, and how to prioritise work. She draws on her own experiences as an engineering leader and as an individual contributor to make the book an excellent playbook for how to drive impact, build relationships, and grow teams.Sarah is one of the best engineering leaders in our industry and I'm immensely grateful that she dedicated time to share her experience with all of us in this book. I'll keep it close by to reference on a day to day basis, as a guide for hard conversations, managing work and collaboration. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be a better manager, leader, or engineer.

extremely helpful and insightful
Been a manager for a long time and recently moved into the EM role. This book has really helped me gain a different perspective on the role and helped me identify how I can ad value to my teams and help them progress in their personal development.
