Wonderful Oil and Beautiful, Functional Bottles
The aluminum bottles are very well packed for safe delivery. This is the first time I've ordered this Sunflower Oil (2 pack) from Amazon but the 2nd time I've ordered it overall. This is my go-to favorite oil to create my own spreadable butter. The sunflower oil is delicious! It makes a lovely salad dressing. It makes a fantastic spreadable butter as well. The aluminum bottles are gorgeous. They do not leak. They are engineered very well with a well-designed spout. The bottle size is easy to store on the counter. Sunflower oil has a neutral smell and taste for me. As I said, the bottles are beautiful. I am not yet willing to recycle the aluminum bottles. I am saving them for some unknown purpose. Maybe one day I will recycle them. But I am just as likely to make my own basil-steeped oil and repurpose the bottles. How versatile is that?

The Yellow Top is Actually a Yellow "Cork" ..just twist and Pull Up
Have not really used this ..so may be an update later. But first things first. The top of the bottle had a small amount of oil on it making a little challange to remove the plastic wrap at the top. A little soapy water cleaned it up and a knife cut the clear plastic enough to remove it. Next the yellow cap perplexed me. I tried several methods to swist it off until, dumb me realized the the yellow cap is actually a yellow plastic 'cork' .. just twist and puill up and off it comes.

this was most likely rancid!
THIS PRODUCT WAS MOST LIKELY RANCID! I make my own mayo. But I have histamine intolerances so finding a neutral oil is harder than you might think. I thought I'd try Sunflower oil because it's supposed to be a healthier option. I don't know if I just don't like sunflower oil or if this is just rancid, but it was disgusting! I wasted 6 organic eggs trying to make the mayo. First two batches it wouldn't even emlusify correctly. But smelling it, it had an awful smell. I thought I'd try it as dressing since it was runny. But it was gross. So then today I tried another batch of mayo. I made sure the eggs sat out to room temp for a couple hours. It did emulsify eventually, though it seemed to take a bit longer than other oils. So I thought well maybe the eggs were actually bad and that's why the first two batches went so horribly. NOPE! Took a tiny taste of it and before it hit my mouth I could smell how rancid it smelled. Just awful. It's NOT the eggs! I smelled in the bottle and it does smell off, but not as bad as when you do something with it out of the bottle. It has like this chemical rotten smell. I don't even know how to describe the smell I smelled and tasted. I don't think sunflower oil is supposed to taste like that, but now I'm scared to buy any other because it's so expensive. I'll just stick to grapeseed oil, because this was just so gross. I'm assuming since it's in a clear plastic bottle that it has leached the chemicals from the plastic and also was not stored in a cool, dark room. Beware, this is a food item and can't be returned. I did manage to talk to Amazon and get a refund though. So at least I got that back, but I'm still out 6 organic eggs, which costs a bunch. So please be mindful if you don't have a lot of money if you decide to take the chance on this. Don't try it out on food that's expensive to test it. As I stated it didn't smell super bad INSIDE the bottle, but once used it smelled horrid and tasted horrid.
