Roma Medical Twin Wheel Wheelchair Power Pack

Purchased this power pack for my own wheelchair and it has proved a big bonus in getting around. It comes with an extendable bar so that it can be centred on almost any wheelchair, (mine being large chair). It attaches to the chair with 2 quick release clamps left bolted to wheelchair frame. The actuater is designed to be clamped to the handle, but on mine I feed the cable through the chair and clamp the speed unit to my armrest so I can use it myself. A key is needed to power the speed actuater. A strong web fabric strap is provided to loop over handles to raise power pack wheels off ground for free wheeling use. For grip the unit is quite heavy and has another strap to provide a downward force. I am easily able to twist my torso to loop the lift strap onto the handles. We tested it by taking a walk around the local park a few times and it easily managed the terrain and its ups and downs. I have not tested off-road but as long as surface is hard and flat it should cope. I have charged the battery both on mains and car power. The motor runs forward and reverse, turning is a bit of a chore but practice helps. I keep my chair in the car along with the power pack and I found if the chair is standing upright the the pack will fit in the space between the front and back wheels. In conclusion I am glad I got around to buying this power pack as it gives me more control over where I go and frees up my partner from pushing me. Highly recommend.

I was absolutely amazed at the additional weight of this item on top of wheelchair weight which is a lightweight one The item was delivered to a neighbour without consulting me it was delivered early and had it been okay would have pleased me However on having to carry it from said neighbour realised straight away that it would be of no use to me as struggled to carry on its own I am normally a strong person with weighty items but this was ott so unless you are much younger and stronger than myself I would consider it not a suitable buy

Easy to assemble - reduces the load for pushing up inclines, but don't be led into thinking it totally removes manual effort. The unit is an Assistant not a self-contained mobile unit. Feature for lifting the wheels (a strap to hook over wheelchair handle), when pushing on level and assistance not necessarily required, is a little bit cumbersome, but not a major problem.

Powerful and helps the pusher/driver big time up those hills and effortless on straights. Easy to adjust the speed to your walking speed. Pull the pin-key out when not in use to save the battery, a good idea is to attach it to the chair with a cord, don't want to loose them. The wheel unit and battery are heavy but manageable also the alinement to the wheelchair is very important when clamping the Alan key attachments, if these are not level/straight then the pusher/driver will be fighting against the power wheels that drift so take your time fitting these. It clips/unclips to the wheelchair easily for transportation. Charging takes a few hours and having to disconnect the battery connection from the motor is a bit of a design fault I think but overall a very useful product and would recommend buying one if your having problems with pushing a chair.

Very good have used it shopping and when on holiday. easy to fit and assemble . only fault the battery plug connector could do with a slightly longer cable. The price is ideal compaired to the more expensive ones

This is a great idea but as your walking at the back of it working it I kept catching my feet on it!

We bought this item hoping it would be compatible to fit to the wheelchair we already have; unfortunately it is not. Because it contains a battery it is difficult to return.

Few adaptations made in order to fit my daughters wheelchair but seems to do the job. More reasonable than TGA replacement anyway
