Nintendo Game & Watch : The Legend of Zelda System

We ordered this for the company Christmas party. It was the number one request among all the guys! My hubby got one for himself shortly after.

Not the best way to play The Legend of Zelda, but a novel device that's a nice addition to a collection. High quality as expected from Nintendo.

I'm old enough to have played Legend of Zelda on the original NES system and it's always been one of my favorite games. I still have my original NES and will occasionally fire it up for some retro gaming sessions, including playing LoZ. In fact, my late best friend's saved game is still saved to the cartridge from back in the day.I recently became aware of this hand-held version and knew I needed to have it. It plays just like the NES version. While I wasn't nearly as big a fan of the second game, it's still nice to revisit it on the same device, as well as the Link's Awakening.My favorite feature though, is the clock. You can watch the entire LoZ game playthrough while it boldly displays the time on the screen. At the top of the hour another dungeon is defeated and the 'door unlocking' chime plays. At noon and midnight you can watch Ganon get defeated and Link rescue Princess Zelda; then the game starts over with link entering the old man's cave to claim the wooden sword and start the adventure all over again.It's small enough that I can tuck it into a pocket and take it with me anywhere I go. I always look forward to wait times so I can play a little bit of the game. While at home, I keep it docked on a cell phone stand on my desk or nightstand and find myself just watching the clock as I drift off to sleep. This is the ultimate salute to LoZ nostalgia I've ever seen and I'm so glad I bought it.

The media could not be loaded. Excellent display, battery lasts for hours, authentic original games, and you can save your progress.

I remember these little hand helds from childhood, (kid in the 80's), and this is a great piece of nostalgia. Really bright screen, clean sound and games play like the original. Three Zelda games included and Vermin its way better than the single game ones. If your a old kid like me you will love this.

The screen is very small, but still playable. Neat way to revisit this game.
