Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (PS4)

Ok Disgaea, it is one of the best SJRPG which, for me, has always been good with Disgaea 1 and D2 being some of the best in the series. Disgaea 2 the worst but is still good. Disgaea 4 was the best by gaming play wise. until now... well... not now because of how late I’m reviewing it but it is cool I got this.Disgaea 5 is the best game as it has the best of all the nether worlds combined. This game has it all, the humour from Disgaea 1 and D2, the main character and a similar story to Disgaea 2 and some of the online features from Disgaea 3 and 4.Ok so how does it play?Disgaea 5 plays the same as every other Disgaea, a chess like RPG, which is probably the best way to get across the point of how this game played. Like in chess you have different pieces, All the pieces play in a different way but unlike in chess you don't have to play only on piece at a time but up to a maximum of 10. And also, unlike chess, there are a ton of classes to choose all having different properties, like one may have better range of attacks but may not be able to use magic. Then there are the races namely Humanoid and Monster Classes which have their own pros and cons. Then you have the skill level which help the character stats out.So the story:"With the help of his army of soldiers known as The Lost, the Demon Emperor Void Dark has been devastating numerous Netherworlds. The Overlords ruling those Netherworlds, desperate to defeat Void Dark, begin an unlikely alliance to save their realms." -Disgaea.wikiaThe story feels like a normal anime type of story and is very well written to say the least, however it does feel similar to the Disgaea 2 story but the characters themselves are really what make this story good, making the story one of strongest story in a Disgaea game. It has 16 chapters , DLC chapter and an after story so there is a lot here to do, and yes you may have to grind a lot of the time but doesn't, to me, feel like work.Ok so how about the way it looks and sounds?Well I have to say that the sound track is great and doesn't really get old; as for the way it looks it looks good and is flashy.So here are some questions for you.Do you like RPG? Do you like games?If you said yes to one of these questions then buy this gameAnd if you said no... then buy this game just because of the story, 9/10 for me but 5 star for Amazon, it is just that good.

Solid tatics game with an unbelievable amount of customisation for your army.Characters and pretty shallow however and most of the scenes are your typical anime tropes, I mostly skipped over these parts.

WHAT a game. If you've played Disgaea before you'll know what you're in for with this title. All of the best of the previous Disgaea games, now with even MORE to do.If you HAVEN'T previously played a Disgaea game, then you're in for a rare treat. You don't need any prior knowledge to play this game, much like other JRPG franchise the games in the series are only connected by mechanics and the odd reference, the story is standalone.Disgaea 5 is easily the best SRPG I've played... EVER. And if you knew how much I loved Final Fantasy Tactics or Shining Force 2, you'd know what a bold statement that is. At times funny, sad and awesome D5 has something for everyone, as long as they all love animated insanity, surprisingly deep combat systems, and damage number that will eventually reach the billions.One thing I would say... It's my only criticism and it's fairly minor... This isn't the most user friendly game. I don't know if it's bad translations or just the devs not really giving an F, but some of the skill descriptions are vague to the point of being borderline useless. However this is a very small problem, as we live in an age of the internet and 30 seconds of Google Fu will usually give you the answer.

WARNING: This game requires you to grind heavily especially for post-game so if you don't have the time to play it this may not be for you however the main story doesn't require much grinding in order to complete so keep that in mind.Well I only recently got into the Disgaea franchise and I really enjoyed Disgaea 1 on the PS2 then decided why not get the latest entry on the PS4 so I that's exactly what I did.In all honesty it was the best decision I could've made as this game is just fantastic and ending up being so good I played it for nearly 2 whole weeks straight with barely any breaks between play sessions.The game itself looks really nice with HD Sprites and colourful Anime style graphics.The animations are crisp and the game runs smoothly with no noticeable frame drops.The soundtrack is top notch and some of the best I've heard from a game in quite awhile.This game took me roughly 60 hours to complete but that's really only half the game as there's plenty of postgame content to get through and alot to do in this game so your certainly getting your money's worth with this game.

Brought this game after having played the demo on PSN and previous played disgae 4 on PS3.My first impressions were i instantly noticed the massive improvements from D4 on every scale; Music, Characters, stage level design, and my favourite the deep customization available. From colour change on invidual pieces of clothing on each characters outfit to even their names if you like.A true RPG in every way, great storytelling and character development with unexpected twists of an epic nature.An easter egg perhaps is that this games dialogue, characters personalities and slogans are derived from WWE, Star Wars, Naruto and Dragonball Z. This just makes the game epic in my opinion beacuse it honours these notable influences with its own shining originality making Disgea5 the true epic it .200 hours of gameplay into this game i have only just completed the main story campaign. There was just so much to do in the game side supplemetary part.An unforgettable experiance of playing a vidro game that is a work of art on so many levels:Score : 10/10
