1500 watt 4-stroke
1500 watt four stroke. It holds closer to a 1/2 gallon not 3/4 that They claim. The tank might be 3/4 but you can't fill it that full or it will over flow and leak gas during transport. That's disappointing because it will reduce the run time. I get a surging popping sound out of it when it's idling without anything plugged in probably because of the stupid carb compliance but once you draw power from it that stops and it starts running great. It starts right up super easy first pull every time. I always unplug everything turn off the fuel and let it run out of gas when finished with it. It's about as loud as it should be for the size of motor that it is, there's no getting around that without suppressing the exhaust and in turn reducing the engine's power. If you're trying to decide between the four stroke and the two stroke the four stroke is going to be way quieter than the two-stroke. I really like it because it's super light and small like I wanted. I'm disappointed at the same time because I calculated how long I would need it to run on the fuel capacity and it just barely won't run as long as I needed because of the discrepancy in the description about the fuel capacity. Now I have to carry a gas can. The description is very vague as to which generator is which. I have a feeling a lot of people are accidentally going to buy the two-stroke thinking they are buying the four stroke also thinking the description applies to the two-stroke when it applies to the four-stroke or vice versa. Sellers on Amazon really need to work harder at making their descriptions more accurate, and you can't make heads or tails of most of the reviews. It ran 6 hours on a 1/2 gallon of gas using 250 watts. The bottom of the tank does not have a taper to it so it runs out of fuel with a very tiny bit of fuel left in the tank, not a lot but just enough to be irritating because if it were designed better that extra fuel would give you more run time and it would fully empty the tank for storage. It's a good product and I really like it. My biggest complaint with most everything I buy on Amazon are inaccurate descriptions. (Update) I have use on several occasions and the little generator works great. Just wish it had a larger fuel capacity. I filled the tank to the very top about 3/4 of a gallon pulling about 800 watts it ran for about 5.5hrs. I will be buying a small gas tank to tie into fuel line so I don't have to get up in the middle of the night to refuel.

Wouldn't start. Customer service poor.
I purchased this Powersmart model # PS55 generator and followed instructions, filled it with recommended gas and oil, pulled the choke and then pulled the starter cord at least a dozen times. Never a sputter. I checked the carb and it was getting fuel. I checked the spark and there is none. The generator is worthless in this state. I called their customer service and was directed to leave a message. I did so, leaving a call back number. No call back. After two days I sent an email to their customer service. No response. I am VERY disappointed with their product, and even MORE disappointed with their customer service! Still waiting to hear from them ... I might give a better rating if they respond with a satisfactory solution.Followup: After several exchanged messages, it looks like I will finally get a credit refund through Amazon, but I am still out $35.38 for the return shipping costs. One star is too generous.

Decent but I don’t like the way it sounds. And seems to auto shut off after 4 hours.
The media could not be loaded. First and foremost, it’s not a .74 gallon tank. It’s .5. It DOES NOT run for 6 hours. It just now died, nothing but a fan connected after exactly 4 hours of runtime. Which is what the book said after I received it. I anted to test it myself though. Unboxing was easy. It’s fairly small, quite lightweight. Carried it outside, connected a ground wire clamped to a foot long drill bit and shoved it into the earth. Only thing I had for the moment. Put fuel in it, wasn’t too hard but kind of messy as the fuelPort isn’t very large had to pour very slow or end up with fuel all over the place. Putting oil in, on the other hand, not as simple. You have to unscrew the entire side off in order to access the oil fill, and the port is so low to the ground and at such an angle that it’s a bit tricky with a funnel getting the oil in. One pull of the cord, with barely any force, and it started right up. Directions don’t say what you’re supposed to do with the choke after it starts, so I just pushed it all the way back in. I’m not an engine guy so I didn’t know. When it started to run its not very steady. I mean, it runs, but I sort of expected just s steady noice. It’s more of a back and forth whirring which is really annoying. Directions say to let it warm up a few minutes so I thought maybe it would even out after a bit. It does not. Maybe that’s just the way it’s supposed to sound, but kind of aggravating. It’s not super loud, through I’m behind my house now and it’s in the front and I can still hear it, but just a low rumble. Its that unsteady up and down that’s racking my brain though. Connected up a decent sized fan to it, as that’s going to be its main purpose. And it’s been running for a while now. Started a stopwatch and I’m going to let it run until it dies to get a true sense of how long it will go on a tank of fuel. The posting says one thing but the book says another so I’ll just have to test for myself. 4 hours. That’s what it got. Posting says 6. That’s a fairly big difference. Update: went out to check the generator shortly after writing this, trying to decide if I should return it or not seeing as how four hours just isn’t going to be long enough (though then I noticed there are no returns on this item.). Fuel tank was only about half empty, so apparently it had just stopped on its own? Restarted it, again really easy, and let it run again. This time without a load through as I had already put everything else up and was being lazy. Ran for another four hours and shut off again. Is it supposed to only run for four hours at a time and then shut itself off? That would be a good thing to advertise as if it was needed for something through the night and it just shuts itself off that could be pretty detrimental depending on what you were powering with it, like a breathing machine or something. Company reached out fairly quick to my review and offered a full refund. Feel a little awkward about accepting it if I can’t return the item as I don’t like getting something for nothing. It does run, and does power items, was able to run the fan and a small pressure washer off of it. Separately, didn’t try at the same time. But, not knowing if the cut off is normal, or if the way it sounds when it’s running is indicative of an issue which is going to have it quit working on me in a short period of time, I suppose I don’t have much of a choice. If it weren’t for those two issues, which again, may or may not be normal for this model, it would be a great small generator. The four hour cutoff, I think is the biggest drawback though.

****Do not buy.!!!!!****
Item did not work str8 out of the box, it would not start.....and the manufacturer tells me to take it to a repair shop...wow.!!!! What kind of technical support is that.??? Don't waste ur money on this brand.!!!!! Spend a few more bucks and get a Champion or Wen...or Westinghouse.!!!!! Maybe I got a fluke, but I would not buy again.!!! Reviews say otherwise, and that quality is superb, but I do not recommend PowerSmart, and especially their customer serv/technical support.!!!!
