We really didn't know what to expect from this detector but wanted to know how much energy interference was running around our home. So much near everywhere, it seems wifi cell phones led lights ect all put out not only readable but in some ways lightly dangerous waves. Leant the device to an off grid friend and they even found that trees put off a generous reading! I am still learning allot about this unit and the waves it reads but I feel it's great to understand more about the new tech we are using and what effects it may create in our day to day.

This device takes a moment to learn to use and further time to suspend disbelief in the supernatural. That said, once I had accomplished these tasks the device correctly identified an entire pitcher of haunted iced tea that was sitting in the kitchen! We were not sure what to do next, but because there was a heat wave and the ac was not keeping up we decided to drink it anyway. Always good to know what you might be getting yourself into while staying hydrated.

Ok I will say it works and it does what it is designed to do. The description of the product is miss leading as it mentions testing Microwave ovens, or Cell towers. This is not the device for that it is sensitive to EMF the magnetic field and mostly deaf to RF field. I can put it in front of my microwave oven while running and it hardly picks up a thing where my RF field detector is going off scale.As a EMF detector it does a good job like motor windings, oscillators, power supply noise. Motor brushes etc. the one thing I wish it had was a high pass filter to to eliminate 60 cycle AC. There is 60hz wiring all through the house so anytime you get close to any house wiring, switch or anything plugged into a socket it will go off with a high reading. It would be nice to eliminate 60hz so you could then pinpoint other noise sources.

This is a fun little tool if you're into ghost hunting. However, this also pretty successful with detecting sources of EMF interference in the home. I haven't found any ghosts just yet, but I have been able to identify a few locations with electronics that could be causing some coverage issues with my wireless network. If you have similar problems, this is definitely a useful tool to rule out/confirm EMF issues.The tool is pretty lightweight and its build quality is decent. The build quality is something between Klein and Fluke networking tools, with it leaning more towards Fluke in my opinion. It's definitely not going to break if you're a little rough with it (within reason, of course).

I bought this as a spare to carry in my tool bag.I found that it's just as accurate as my Fluke meter that I paid over $400 for it.This meter is a bargain and I was very surprised at how accurate it is compared to much more expensive equipment.

For use around the home (for more than ghost hunting) to source EMF noise or interference, this is a handy tool. I brought it next to a high quality air filter with a shielded motor and it barely registered any reading. I then used it against an antique old fan, with carbon brushes on a universal motor (the kind where you can see lots of little blue sparks) and the reading spiked as naturally, that motor is unshielded and making a lot of electrical noise. Handy little tool for use around the home or for occasional light use in the workplace where you don't need scientifically accurate readings. But to test for a noisy electrical cabinet, motor, etc., this would work just fine.
