If you like Disney, then this book provides superb samples of their work. It's essentially an image book. And as always I love sketches.Worth the buy, if your looking for more historical text then don't.

The scope of this book is amazing! I have had the animation book in my collection for years and that focuses on 1930s-1980s max, whereas this takes us all the way up to Princess and the Frog! Really impressed. They're hefty books but so worth the price!

This is a "BEST".Huge heavy book with pleanty of great and colorful illustrations.This is what every Disney fan library should contain, its like diving right into the Disney archives.Its so well illustrated you actually cant contain it. This is a really nice book if you are an animator. Bought this one with "Animation", But the Package was really damaged and both books were torn and bumped on the side. Just Awful International delivery. Would not order it on international delivery. The Book itself is filled with great drawings, but almost no text, so not a lot to actually read and learn from. Other than that, beautiful and masterful art.

The concept pieces and color work that was put into this book is mind blowing and absolutely beautiful!

Simply marvelous. It doesn't have comments but pictures say enough and is one of the few that has things from the old to the 90s. Must to buy if you love Disney as an art.

Un libro eccellente, come gli altri tre della serie Archives del resto. Uscito nel Novembre 2010 questo ripercorre, attraverso una selezione degli elaborati più significativi (molti dei quali fino ad oggi inediti), il faticoso processo di studio che riguarda proprio il design di personaggi e location dei corto e lungometraggi Disney attraverso gli anni. Acquarelli, pastelli, tempere, matite, digital painting, ecc. sono i mezzi utilizzati per costruire l'impalcatura di un film d'animazione e fissare lo stile grafico dello stesso, prima ancora che abbia inizio la vera fase di produzione.

The four books from the Archive Series collection (Story, Animation, Design, Layout) by Disney are incredible. These are giant well crafted hardcover books showcasing different concept art for various films throughout the history of Walt Disney Animation, as early as Steamboat Willie to as recent as Winnie the Pooh (2011). Organized in order by date, this is the ultimate Disney art book collection."Design" is mostly about character and background design, with concept art showing ideas about color and form. The most interesting book of the four.I love traditional animation and classic Disney films. Best purchase I've ever made, worth every penny.
