Excellent Choice Among Many Options
When I decided that I was finally going to buy one of these little cameras, I spent hours looking at all the various options. I finally settled on the 16’ version of this camera. I’m very pleased with my purchase. I wanted a camera primarily to look within my walls and stud cavities for running low voltage cabling. I'm not an ace with a fish tape, and this lets me find existing holes and obstructions. This works really well for that purpose, and in multiple (long) sessions it has been thoroughly reliable and satisfying to use. The camera focuses nicely from about 1 inch to infinity. The resolution and lighting are excellent (and the light level is adjustable). The side cameras are far more useful that I expected, and on my first use of the camera revealed something (a corrugated gas line) that I otherwise would have missed. I like the fact that I don’t have to tie-up my phone to use the camera. The flexibility/stiffness of the cable seems to be “just right”. Bottom line: this is a good, solid, choice. Nice unit. Easy to use. Highly recommended.

Already saved/made money using this awesome E-Scope
Aside form my Drs office, I don't know a whole lot about endoscope's but this one was recommended by another generator repair technician. (JC) With this DEPSTECH DS520 Tripple lens +16ft cable, I didn't need to know anything. It's easier to use than most of the cell phones I've owned. 1 forward camera, 1 side camera & 1 side camera that has an extremely close up view, that is you can get really close to the object with one of the side cams (see valve seat damage). I love the 1080 clarity and 5in screen. I haven't used any of the probe attachments, other than the protective cap, yet but have use it to scope out this generator engine with a broken valve, saving me several hours in disassembly, inspection and sitting around waiting for parts to come in while the generator takes up valuable shop & workbench space. Just used it again today in a fuel tank to find the fuel level gauge in pieces & using my old 4 fingered grabber, got them all out. Another few hours saved by not having to remove the tank and shake the pieces out. LoL. It easily interfaces with my computer, laptop as well as my phone & tablet with an adapter (dongle?) Although videos didn't work on the phone but I'm sure "it's not you, it's me" applies here, not a scope issue. Like I said, it's easier to use than my phone. LoL. I'll have to figure that out later. Also enough room in the case for MY charger, dongle & a their second shorter cord if so desired I'm sure. Hint/Tip: Charge it fully before first use, it may take a while that first time. Make sure the Camera Attachment Plug is securely in. (They were kind enough to send me an email reminding me of that) *Note: I wish there was an added screen protector, like for phones. I just worry about scratching it since all my engines have very tight spaces, very sharp corners, usually rounded tops. MrB Repairs. ** 1 month update: I didn't think I would be using this Scope as much as I do. Also Great for close-up belt inspection, underside of riding mower decks & around transmissions for a quick "Look-see". As well as down the old trucks defrost vent to remove an old pen that's prevented the defroster/vent selector from working right from the day I bought the old truck.

Best $60 tool I've ever bought.
The versatility of this camera is great. Having the side camera views was very helpful for when you can't get the main camera twisted to see your target area. The windows are very durable and these cameras have seen their fair share of oil without any degradation of picture quality. The adjustable lighting is helpful when viewing very shiny metal surfaces. Display flip and split screen were also great options. Split screen can make you totally lose your bearings though. :) Things that would make it even better... An option for a shorter fiber. You don't need 20+ feet when working on a vehicle. The extra fiber was always in the way. A way to strap the camera down would be really helpful. The rigidity of the fiber makes the display flop around when you don't have a hand on it. There were many times that I needed the two hands on tools so had to wedge the display in different locations. Bottom line. This camera has been a lifesaver for troubleshooting and fixing my son's truck. Highly recommended.

5 star rating is real.
I am always suspicious of 5 star ratings. I have to give this product 5 stars though. I bought a Depstech years ago that connected to a cell phone. Lost the instructions and had a question. Prompt response and follow up. Impressive enough that I decided to consider one several generations newer. The DS520 went beyond my expectations. The first thing you notice opening the box is a good quality case with three dividers. Usually for relatively inexpensive products the case if there is one is pretty cheap. The DS520 was off to a good start. Rather than go into detail about each feature I am going to say that I reread the company's description, pictures and video on this page and they are perfectly accurate. What they say is what you get. Crisp, bright colors. Easy to use. Thoughtfully designed. The instruction manual is short. I am a guy. I didn't read it. Played with the endoscope first. Pretty intuitive. Read it afterwards and picked up a few points. The only thing that had me stumped is that the controls for the scopes brightness didn't seem to work. I was pressing and holding the button expecting it to gradually dim. It dims in steps with each press of the bottom. Works fine. I did see that the company has placed a note about needing to fit the USB cable firmly into the connection. I wondered if this wasn't a design flaw. No, it is not a flaw. The connection is built down into the bump out at the top of the montior. This stabilizes the cable and connections to prevent damage. Thoughtful design. I added a couple of pictures. I wanted to show the screen on the monitor itself rather than a download picture (which is easily done btw). Any perceived decrease in sharpness of the screen is from my old cell phone not the endoscope. It is perfectly clear. I wish I could say one thing negative just to make this review sound more believable. Maybe someone else can find something to say on the con side but I can't!

Great tool that I should have gotten sooner
I had another model that had some issues, but it gave me something to compare against this one. For a few bucks extra, this one has better resolution, a longer cable, a useful case, accessory attachments, and more. I actually didn't even know it had multiple cameras until I started clicking some buttons. But I do like the side view cameras on this one vs. The articulating cable of the other unit I tested. I've used it multiple times in just a couple of weeks—mostly fishing wires in walls and figuring out what was preventing me from fishing said wires. The attachments were also unexpected, but came in handy immediately. I put the hook to use in grabbing a doorbell wire that I had dropped a little off to the side of my hole in the wall. Worked like a charm. I only have two real critiques so far. One is a real UI issue: I just don't really like the way the camera selection button works. It's not very intuitive that a quick press rotates the orientation, while a long press switches to a split screen or alternate camera view. Two separate buttons would make more sense to me. But the feature itself works great. Finally, I've found that my personal preference, at least in the problems for which I've employed the borescope so far, is a shorter cable. The typical 5.5ft cable is plenty for peering into walls. I can see this longer cable coming in handy the next time I need to inspect the entirety of my dryer vent, locate a blockage in long sanitary sewer line, or maybe if I were dropping wires in a two-story home. But for just peeking into a regular wall cavity, the long cable just becomes a bit unwieldy. But, that's also where another benefit of this product shines: because the cable is not integrated into the screen unit, it can be replaced. So maybe I'll look for a shorter cable for shorter jobs, while reserving the longer one for the instances that call for it. Longevity yet to be determined, but battery life is good, display quality is good. Recording capability is very useful. Good product for a good price, I'd say.
