Theres things you need to know
First of all, as it states in the product information you WILL need a neutral wire to connect to. You WILL also need plenty of space behind a light switch to install this. I had a 47mm deep UK back box and only with some thoughtful wiring, the unit will fit. My main problem was that I was converting 2 gang – 2 way light switch/circuits, meaning the light switch already had a lot of wires behind it.I have added two images of my before and after wiring diagrams to help anyone who is thinking of doing the same.I purchased two retractable switches - Retrotouch Simplicity White Pulse/Retractive Switch (2 Gang) - SKU07100 to work with the unit. I may now buy some MK grid retractable switches, to match my other switches in the house, now I know the unit works. As per previous reviews of this unit the installation manual is really bad and the wiring diagram is completely wrong if you are using 2 way switches. The unit works by receiving a pulse from a retractive switch. (one quick pulse = lights on, another quick pulse = lights off, and a long pulse (retactive switch held down) = dimmer adjust). Therefore if using 2 way switches, the switches need to be wired in parallel and not in series as the installation manual suggests.Once the unit was wired and switched on I followed the process of connected the unit to WiFi using the APP on my phone. This worked first time without any problem. I was then quickly able to add the switch to the Amazon Alexa app to control the lighting from a smart speaker or use the Alexa APP. I find it easiest to ask the Alexa speaker to dim to a certain % level. i.e “Alexa, living room 50%”, it will then instantly dim to 50 % lighting level. Now I know the unit work I will be converting my other downstairs switches where I know I have a neutral wire present. Unfortunately my upstairs lighting does not have a neutral wire at the switches although I’m thinking of ways to wire them in the loft, but will require a bit of work to lift loft boards.I’m giving this 4 stars as it works very well when fitted but loses a star as documentation and description of how the unit works is very bad and needs to be improved.Hope this helps.

Very impressed initially...
As a home automation geek setting up Home Assistant server software I bought these as slave drivers for light fittings. Not hooked them up with Home Assistant as yet but just using their provided app so far I am impressed. They successfully dimmed a generic dimmable bayonet bulb to my satisfaction which had been a problem with several other dimmer devices. Its also incredibly small in a great way and comes with a little clip to enable you to mount many of them in a row in some sort of control box of you own choosing. So far I love this device but.... (Later update) to connect to it with any home automation platform you have to use their cloud service which works fine but for me its a single point of failure and a vendor lock-in. If I could connect directly from my home automation to the device (without hacking it and re-flashing it) then it would get 5 starts and I would buy lots of them.

All is not ok
The media could not be loaded. The switch installs well, the switch connect well, but it doesn’t work well with my inwall retractive switch. It does not switch on and off with the physical switch always. Sometime it takes a few tries , and sometimes I give up and just ask google assistant to switch it on

Check that where you're going to install it has enough space.
I used this to use in conjuction with the switch type recommended and the result was as advertised.Below is the review I wrote for the switch but it is only because I fitted the module in the same (small) enclosure as the switch and I am not an electrician!"Working so far. (1 month)It stretched my DIY skills to the limit to fit it alongside a google home compatible dimmer module in the same extra deep backbox. If using it for this purpose make sure you have a very large backbox and an extra few inches of cable. I was relieved when it was all successfully over. Take plenty of pictures of the existing wiring. (My back box was a junction for other switches). I think a secondary back box might have made fitting both items easier in my case".I would recommend looking at your existing wiring and backbox before setting aside time to wire this into an existing enclosure. It may be better to buy 2 single modules and fit them above the light fittings where there is likely to be more space. It may be that my backbox might have already been 100% full.I can't remember if it has a remote control compatibility.Otherwise, it works well with the recommended app and does its job very well (month, so far).🙂
