Good enough for her maj. so good enough for me
Been using this crystaline wax polish mainly on my guitars (especially my acoustics) for some time. The best thing about it apart from the beautiful deep shine is the protection from dings scuffs and scratches. Once you have polished something wooden a couple of times with this polish it seems to form a protective layer and already a couple of times I have been able to polish out what I thought was a pretty serious ding. You see in the pics how my beautiful Taylor 314ce came back from the Luthiers (no I wont use them again) It's made of Sapele which is a type of mahogony. I couldn't photo the exact spot after polishing the guitar because I couldn't remember exactly where it was and couldn't find it. So highly recommended by her Maj. and me. Please bear in mind that this guitar was already protected by previously being polished with Renaissance polish a number of times (every time I change strings - about every 10 - 12 weeks) I'm not saying that this will revive damaged wood if not already protected. It might, I've just never had to try it !

The best there is
If you want to protect and preserve, metal, leather or wood then this is all you need. It was developed for and used by the British Museum and many other similar establishments to ensure the long term preservation of their items. Applies easily, buff to remove excess and job done. Doesn't have a glossy sheen but then it was designed to preserve the finish and the look of the material and finishes it was applied over. Works on many other types of material too. A little goes a long way, this is only my 2nd tin in 10 years - I used the first on dozens of items several times over. It was even used to protect several items of furniture - Get some !

This is a lot of polish!
This is a lot of polish! My previous 65ml one lasted about 20 years. OK, I don't wax a lot of wood, just the odd hifi speaker, or amp cabinet. But 200ml is not a small tub. (A smaller one at a lower price would be welcome.)

Well worth it
Initially, it appeared that this wax might be a tad on the expensive side, however having read a few reviews I decided to give it a go and, "in for a penny, in for a pound" I went for the larger size, on the premise if it was any good then the extra few pounds paid for significantly more product would be well spent - sometime you have to take the gamble. It proved to be money well spent; the project I had in mind was the renovation of some biscuit tins that had seen better days and had been a little neglected. The wax made a really good job of the tins and I only had to use a really tiny amount. Another important point is that apparently this stuff can be used on a wide variety of materials; I also tested it on a wooden chair I have been meaning to do up for a while and the results were equally pleasing. Overall, good results on various materials and good value for money too.

Five Star Plus In Every Way
Firstly .....I would like to say a huge thank you to the sellers “Rest Express” on their wonderful customer service. Having phoned them before purchasing the product, the lady I spoke to was both courteous and extremely helpful in the way she dealt with both my questions and concerns. This leads me onto the product itself ..... I wanted to know if I could use the product on a copper coloured painted metal dining table and chairs that had started to go rusty. I didn’t want to paint it due to the odour of the paint that could be painted over rust, but I also didn’t want the colour of the rust to rub off against clothing etc. I was advised that this would be suitable, so I gently rubbed down any rusty areas, being careful not to remove the paint. I then wiped it down with a damp cloth and left it to dry before applying a thin coat of wax and buffing to a lovely sheen. I now have a lovely revitalised dining table and chairs that also leave no offending marks on your clothing when you brush past them. My next question was to ask if I could use it on leather sofas .... I have two leather sofas that I can only describe as “tatty” due to the fact that the coating that has been applied to the leather had started to break down and peel, leaving it looking very patchy and bitty. I firstly cleaned the sofa with a damp cloth and left it to dry. I then applied a thin coat of wax and buffed it to a soft sheen. At this point there was still some of the bits of the coating sticking up, so I repeated the process of applying wax and buffing another two times. I now have two sofas, that, although you can still see the areas if you look closely, where the coating has peeled, they blend in well with no bits sticking up, and that look “worn in” rather than “worn out”, so I’m completely happy with the result. The one concern I had before buying the product was going to be the smell of it, as this was the main reason for me not wanting to paint the dining table and chairs. There is smell, but I didn’t find this is any way offensive, as it had a smell somewhere between petroleum jelly and shoe polish. The smell did tend to last a little longer on the dining table and chairs as this is non porous, whereas on the leather sofas, it went quite quickly. I’m now looking to see what else I can use this wonderful product on.
