Good, but not fantastic.
I bought this having decided that I neither wanted to pay over a hundred pounds for a shower rail, nor did I want a cheap and tacky special buy. I figured this being a Grohe it would be decent quality. And it is - but just that, decent. It's nothing special (I know it's just a shower rail, so what should I expect... But still). It looks nice but it's actually quite plasticy and the height adjustment mechanism is just the wrong side of annoying that I got frustrated whenever the height was adjusted by someone else. It looks like a push button affair, but it's not; you have to screw/unscrew it.On the other hand, installation was very easy and in 9 months of usage it's still rock solid. It's important you use the correct rawl plugs for your wall. There were rawl plugs and screws included, but I didn't use either, preferring to buy better quality ones of each for my tiled plaster walls; I'd strongly recommend this to anyone if you don't have brick walls as for the cost of rawl plugs (pennies) versus the installation time (okay - that only took me ten minutes) it's worth getting it right first time.I'm not entirely sure it's worth £40, but then it was the best I found in that ball-park price range and for that reason I'd probably buy it again. I'd have preferred paying less for just the rail though, and buying an alternative pipe and shower head (partly because I decided that the ones I already had were better, so ended up giving the Grohe ones away and just keeping the rail itself).Oh - one huge positive: the chrome is very easy to clean limescale off of. Whether that'll be true in a couple of years time, we'll have to see!
