Unbelievably soft and gentle like a baby washcloth, but cleans so well. Very durable. I also bought the hand towels and plan to buy a few of the bath towels.I bought them for myself, but I foster kittens from time to time and they are perfect for cleaning them when they need a little wipe down. I have some set aside for me and a few for them.This is honestly one of the best purchases I have ever made on Amazon.

They feel soft to touch but still can scrub skin. They are on the more absorbant side so it takes a bit more effort to get them into a soaked condition but that's not an issue for me, rather just an observation. They are affordable so if one gets a stain I can toss it without worry. I think they are a good value.
