Excellent Lens
I have been looking for a Barlow lens for some time that was both affordable and of good quality. Although it's difficult to tell on a website with this sort of thing, the photos looked encouraging as did the reviews. So I took a punt on this one. I'm so glad I did! This lens is fantastic, and the company sent it out very speedily despite a longer delivery period stated.A barlow lens will effectively double the effectiveness of any of your current lenses (for example a 35x magnification lens turns into a 70x magnification lens). You simply drop the barlow lens in where you would normally place your lens on your telescope, then just drop in your normal lens on top. This is a great way to give your telescope a boost relatively cheaply, as you can use a barlow lens to boost ALL of your lenses to get a bit more power out of them.A fantastic lens and a very promising company. Absolutely no complaints :)

Great quality lens for a great price
I received the lens within a week of ordering. It came in a plastic bag (could do with more protective packaging), however the lens was perfectly fine. The lens did not come with a bottom cover, which could lead to dust getting in (thankfully I had a spare lying around). Apart from the minor details above the product was very satisfactory. It fit perfectly into my telescope, no looseness whatsoever. The quality of image received is very crisp, I did not notice any loss of detail. Some sights were exceptional, such as Jupiter and it's four moons. For such a cheap price I would definitely recommend it seeing such high prices from other manufacturers and such great quality, it does not come off as cheap at all. Great product.

Excellent quality for the price!
I'm using this Seben 2x Barlow lens in a recently purchased Celestron 70 Travelscope and I have to say that the quality of this lens image through the telescope is really excellent. I also bought a slightly cheaper 3x Barlow plastic lens from a different company at the same time and the quality of image was very poor by comparison with the Seben lens. The Seben lens has glass optics and the difference in the clarity of image compared to the plastic lens is remarkable. I only wish that Seben made a 3x Barlow lens which I would purchase immediately, but I can't see one on their website?Seben's customer service is also superb. I bought a wrong sized lens which had already been dispatched but they managed to stop the shipment and give me a full refund the same day. The 2x Barlow lens also arrived much more quickly than expected (within a week of ordering) considering it is shipped from Germany.Quality product and quality service - highly recommended!

Good value, but let down by the lack of end cap and box.
This Barlow lens appears to work fine, and used with the standard 9mm eyepiece which came with my reflector, gives a better image than a cheap 4mm eyepiece which I recently purchased. However, this lens only one cap, with the result that the far lens (which is almost flush with the end) is liable to be easily damaged when not in use. There was also no box for the lens - which originally me wonder if it really was new as stated. However, I am assured by Seben that it is indeed new, and that the lack of box and far lens cap is to keep the cost down, which seems curious as these surely cannot cost much.Seben also offered me a partial refund in exchange for removing my original review. I have re-worded it to reflect their reply, but not changed my main comment; I do not want a refund.

save your money towards a quality brand.
Bought this in January and just been able to use it for the first time and for the money wasn't expecting much. However I was not expecting fuzzy out of focus images. I am going to spend more money and buy skywacher to replace it. You get what you pay for but this was a waste of money.

Very good quality for the price, recommended, read-on for in depth.
The barlow lens is excellent value, and is of surprisingly good build quality. A good test I did to somewhat verify this is when putting a very well made webcam adapter into it, and let it drop in by gravity, it slowly went in, as air between the adapter and the barlow lens could not escape too fast out of the gaps, which verifies that the barlow lens is very accurate in it's circularity and general "even-ness". However, please remember how much you are paying, and note that there is a reason why this is a third the price of celestron barlows. More expensive equals better quality lenses and geneal build quality. Never-the-less, I would recommend this. I have used it so far to view the Moon, Jupiter, and Mars, and I have to say, it is amazing at how good the quality is...FOR...the price. I mentioned the webcam adapter didn't I... well I use a simple xbox 360 webcam, the webcam adapter, this barlow lens, a darkening filter, and I can get very satisfying images of what I said I have viewed.I would recommend if you are beginning like me, but please just remember the price and that more expensive will generally equal better quality.Sam

Budget price - top performance.
As ever, Seben manage to provide quality performance without the premium price tag. We'd all like to spend money on our hobby, but we can't all afford to pay top dollar for shiny kit. You know what? I do astronomy in the dark, and I care more about looking THROUGH an eyepiece than looking AT it. That said, this is a smart looking Barlow that fits perfectly in the eyepiece holder, and gives a good, clear image doubling. The seeing conditions weren't great when I tested it, but it was obvious that the thing would be just fine when things are less wobbly.Am I glad I bought it? You bet I am. I would recommend Seben/Orbinar astronomy eyepieces to any amateur astronomer who wants to equip themselves without breaking the bank (or annoying their significant other).UPDATE: Clear night, viewing Saturn with this and my Orbinar 6.5 mm Plossl (mag x200 in my scope) - WOW! This is the first time I've managed to see Saturn at x200 and it is simply amazing. My wife was blown away by the sight, as she's never seen it at lower magnifications. I can't wait for Jupiter to come back round in the winter sky again!
