Good replacement bathroom mirror switch
Bought this to replace a '610' pull cord switch that controlled the fluorescent bulbs in a bathroom mirror; that switch was starting to arc occasionally. The old '610' is made in Germany and no longer ships to the UK. This switch is a very good substitute. The picture is somewhat misleading: it suggests that there is one mounting hole, so that the whole switch might in time rotate a bit. But in fact there is a metal mounting plate, not shown, with tabs that prevent rotation and with two screw holes for fastening the whole thing in place -- the visible hole is for the screw that fastens the switch to that plate. The two screw holes on that plate are very slightly farther apart than on a '610' and the plate is about the same dimensions as the switch body, but set at right angles to the body. After drilling one new screw hole it was easy to fit and works very smoothly.

Easy and cheap to replace rather than buying new light unit.
very quick and easy replacement of faulty switch in bathroom mirror cabinet and now light tubes are now working. wish I had known it was the switch before I bought new tubes. Also I could have saved on buying replacement light for another room if I had known I could have bought just the switch.

12v to 230v SP switch.
Pull cord...Latching switch mechanism. for eg.. Mirror lights. In my case, one is used to drive two 12v LED mirror down lighters, and one is for switching 230v mains supply to razor/toothbrush charging socket. Both on the same Bathroom Vanity unit. Pros... Fitting the switch is straight forward enough. The live or positive in/out cable is the switched line, and connects to recessed screwed switch terminals, and negative/neutral cable leads directly to terminate at the mentioned lights and socket. You need to set the angle at which the switch is secured (A single screw fixing) to ensure that enough lever movement is obtained to fully operate the switch lever. In my example this was super simple because I was replacing the exact same switches like for like. After 28 years of vigorous, use one of the switches had failed. So I renewed both. Cons.... The Draw cord provided with the switch was too thick and impossible to thread through the tiny hole in the switch operating lever. So I had to obtain a slightly thinner cord. Even then, it was a severely fiddley task. However, All done, and working perfectly. So Good result.

Money well spent
I got the code off of the old switch that I took out of my extractor fan. The old switch had stopped working and this was a straight replacement. Switch came following day and was fitted in 5 minutes, saved a fair few pounds and time just replacing the switch rather than buying and fitting a brand new extractor.

does exactly what you expect, every time, is actually quite reassuring.
A pull switch… simple device, but actually… very important when you think about control, access, and safety. So you pull it, right? And something happens immediately. Light on, light off. No delay, no complication. It’s direct. Physical. There’s something very honest about that interaction. And I respect that. Because it doesn’t hide behind complexity. It doesn’t need apps or screens or anything like that. It’s just a clean mechanical action that produces a predictable result. That’s reliability. There’s also something interesting about the placement—usually overhead, in bathrooms or utility spaces. It’s designed for environments where safety matters, where you don’t want to be touching electrical switches with wet hands. So it’s not just simple—it’s practical in a very specific way. And the cord itself… that physical connection between you and the mechanism—it feels intentional. You’re not tapping or pressing something abstract. You’re engaging with it. You reach, you pull, and the system responds. That kind of cause-and-effect clarity is actually quite satisfying. There’s no ambiguity. No guessing. It either works, or it doesn’t. And I think people underestimate how important that is. In a world of increasingly complex systems, something that just… does exactly what you expect, every time, is actually quite reassuring. The mechanism inside is also very straightforward—simple switch action, minimal failure points. That kind of engineering restraint is often the best kind. Less to go wrong, more to trust. Overall: simple, reliable, and completely direct. It takes a basic human action and translates it into a clear, immediate result. No confusion, no complexity—just function. And honestly… that’s exactly what it should be.

Very good replacement for old wall light switches
Bought a pack of 4 switches. They made a perfect replacement for my old wallight switches, but unfortunately in one switch the thread for the grub screw holding the conductor of one of the cables was faulty and so was unusable and so the switch was useless. No reduction for pack of 4 although the seller only paid one lot of postage, making them expensive.
