Simple and works really well
I bought a different mount because I read that this one would stress the battery door, all I can say was that the other 'Cradle' mount was completely useless. I couldn't use the mount with the case on and was concerned that the GPS would fall out of the cradle when off road. The cradle mount moved all over the place on the handlebars and was far too tall to be practical. This mount is perfect, it's solid, doesn't move around and I can use it with the case on. The GPS isn't that heavy so although it does fit to the battery door I can't see how it would stress it any more than any other battery door mounting plate. This is a simple, no frills mount that works really well and would thoroughly recommend it.

Performs the task well despite its minimal design
I bought this for my Dakota 10 for the purpose of mountain biking. Like most on here I was a bit surprised with how minimalist it is. To be honest its only worth about half of the asking price but hey ho, its the only bike mount available for the unit and you need it in front of you when navigating. I've had cycle computers that also have cable ties as securing devices and I've found that they can slip no matter how tightly you wind up the tie-wraps. This thankfully doesnt seem to be an issue with this bike mount. A quick tip is to put some insulating tape round the handlebars where you are going to mount this, as sometimes the metal surface can make it 'slippy' Performance wise it feels very solid when the GPS is in the cradle. I've ridden some some pretty flinty, loose stone, rutted and tree-rooted descents and its never caused me any concern. If you're that worried you could always ride with the lanyard secured around your handlebars for that extra security measure. I've given 4 stars as I feel it is overpriced for what it is.

excellent
I use a Garmin Etrex 20 for walking, hiking, cycling and geocaching. Its obviously easier to have the GPS mounted in front of you when your cycling then you can view it in automotive view and follow your route. I have one of these fixed to the stem on my tourer and the other fixed to the stem on my mountain bike. I just swap the GPS to whichever bike I'm using. Great product that holds the GPS securely. I have had no problems mounting or dismounting the GPS and you can attach the mount with the cable ties either laterally or horizontally. It comes with a bit of rubber to stop it slipping but just use a strip of old inner tube if you get stuck.

Excellent product.
Works perfectly with my 64S. It does rotate a little on the bars over time, but easy enough to move back into position, and it holds the GPS securely. Some reviewers suggest it’s expensive for what it is, but it does a great job and transforms my handheld into a full functioning GPS cycle computer. I think it’s great value.

The only solution, but far from ideal
> Bought for Etrex 10 > Bought for ~£8 > In use for 9 months > Used mostly on gravel trails and roads > Snapped in half after 5 months I bit the bullet and got the official Garmin piece of plastic for the rather extortionate price rather than the knock-off version which I was nervous wouldn't hold the GPS safely. I don't know if it's actually designed for the Etrex range (judging by the name, I'd guess not...) but with a bit of force it fits in. It's getting it out again which is the problem, requires a lot of force sometimes. + It holds my Etrex 10 very securely, though I would still recommend using a lanyard tied to the bike in case you mount the GPS wrong (which I have done) + Simple mount using cable ties - unreasonable price tag, even for the official Garmin product, given that it snapped in half. - I have two bikes, and swapping the mount is usually too much bother (if I even have the spare cable ties) some clever, safe quick-release would be brilliant. Bottom line: I would recommend to a friend, but only because there's nothing else out there (that I found when I was buying, anyway)

Minimalist, but capable.
The first thing that struck me when i took the mount from its package was just how little there is of it. As viewable in the product image, it really is a very small piece of plastic for such a valuable item as a GPS unit. At first i was nervous of using it, but the weeks of trial its had so far have put my mind at rest. An example of excellent design and engineering my Dakota (mount also compatible with the Colorado and Oregon) clips straight on sitting on top of the mount with no lateral play or rattling. So firm is its grip it took me a worrying few minutes to work out that to remove the GPS, you just have to push the bottom of the mount downwards and slide the GPS back up, a process so easy you can do it with one hand. I have it attached to a folding bike with small wheels and no shock absorbers, so it does take some fair pounding at times over potholes, cobbles and curbs with no complaints. The mount fixes with grip-ties which thankfully fit to any tube - my folder has very small tubes and i have experienced issues fitting bike lights to the frame but i had no such trouble here. The foot of the unit is square, with rounded tube indentations to fit snug. At about 3cm a side, I'd say that it would likely fit tight to square tubing larger than that, and smaller at an angle due to the indentations for round tubes. Although costly for the small item it is, its design is sound it does its job well.

I use it for my Etrex 22x, Installation couldn't be more simple, stays in place during rough atv rides. Also works with etrex models which are not mentioned in the product description. I actually got that info from a different site before buying this from Amazon, no regrets works great.
