Must have
I bought this book having failed the exam the first time around. Using this and a few other resources, I studied it pretty thoroughly. I felt this book covered a lot of the more obscure stuff - embryological equivalent of Wharton's jelly being a perfect example (came up before; I had no idea...) No book is ever going to cover everything but this one is a great buy for those studying for mrcog 1. The lay out is sparse, without fancy images or glossy pages, but I found that it covered exactly what was needed, all in bullet-point format. I thought the anatomy, genetics and physiology chapters were particularly strong. Overall an excellent book, though I did supplement with other exam prep items.

One of the only two books you need
Unfortunately I spent a small fortune on books for Part 1, you shouldn't make the same mistake! You obviously NEED "the green book" of past papers, familiarity with this is your main revision tool. Otherwise, I ended up using just this book and Wikipedia - passed first time!It is very concise, with easy to understand bullet points and diagrams. Pretty sure I wouldn't have passed without it.

useful adjunct
Very concise with a lot of info, easy to carry around, easier to digest than the burgundy book but you need to have vised before so that you can revise from this, still doesnt cover everything but what does

Fantastic product
A must-buy for anyone studying for MRCOG Part 1.Although it is a *very* dry book (all facts and diagrams are basic), it has all of the information needed to pass the exam as the questions are based on this book.Would recommend.Happy revising!

Apart from green top past paper, this book is all you need
This book covers almost everything you need for part one, it is so easy to read, much better than the college's essential revision guide.
