Blindly light. Mount is a bit to be desired.
The product itself is well made, only to be let down by a poor design in the way the light mounts to the clip. Bought this to locate dog on nightly rambles when she is off lead. Lost the light on the 2nd night out. The light came away from its mount.

This is a quality strobe/tactical light..very robust & very well made...NOW dont be fooled this is a very small light if you think its large/big, its not..Its about 1 inc all round but size IS NOT EVERYTHING!!..This is a professional bit of kit as used by the UK & US Military. It comes with a clip & battery's...It is fully waterproof and will no doubt take some abuse as its a sturdy little unit!! This has many many uses.. security, police ,paramedics, army, coastguard, hikers, climbers, skydivers, cavers, horse riders, cyclists, builders, door supervisors, wardens, stewards, marshals, divers, oil rig workers, dog walkers, ect ect!!! its a very versatile powerful little light worth every penny. waterproof flashing light
I have had several flashing dog collars that didn't last. This light is very robust and waterproof. Walking my dog through the woods in the dark wet winter is a test for many electric collars. This attaches simply to the existing collar and is very bright.

OK
OK but dissapointingly small compared to on screen image - about 1 inch diameter in reality.

Great for Europe's Toughest Mudder
Bought this for Europe's Toughest Mudder - absolutely perfect for the job. Totally waterproof (mud-proof too!). Tighten up to turn on, loosen to turn off. Turn the batteries around to swap from flashing strobe to constant light. Didn't need the white light for the event in the end.

Any adventure should include this.
Pricy but works well. I have a few one on my life jacket one on my canoe & even one on my scuba diving twinset.. Been beyond 30m many times.. I wouldn't like to use it as a torch though but I guess it's an emergency function..I keep them in strobe mode..I have had mine a year or so now all ok

I am very impressed with this light, however this clip style did not work well on my dog's collar because his fur covers the light. He is a Shepherd/Husky cross with an thick, medium length fur. I passed this light on to my friend who has a dog with short hair and it works perfectly. I plan on purchasing the pendant style eGear light. Update: The days are short in winter and my long, thick haired dog still needs his walks (as do I). I was able to solve the problem of my dog's fur covering the light by putting a pendant style eGear light on the loop of his collar and one of the clip style light on each side of the collar. It works so well that I have had other dog owners ask me about the lights and comment on how well they show up.

Very bright, sturdy light. Light cover must be turned to turn on and battery needs to be flipped to switch from intermittent to continuous light.

In my search for a reliable and waterproof collar light for my dog, I was excited about the prospects of the guardian light. When it works, it basically does what it says it does and provides good visibility. Unfortunately, the batteries that it came with, and batteries that are specified for use in it, wobble around inside the case and the light flickers to a dim intensity or completely off with slight movements. It is very challenging to keep it on at all. Sometimes I also find it has come on by itself after I had turned the dome to shut it off - likely due to the poor battery compartment. I don't know if I got a defective unit or something, because everyone has rated it so highly, but for me, it is frustrating that it is unreliable as I count on this light to make my dog visible at night, for myself and others. I can't imagine the military or police using such a faulty signal light, but again, I may have gotten a dud ($20 - sigh). UPDATE - after many hours trying to figure out why my experience with this light was so bad, I have confirmed it was due to the batteries that were specified and supplied with it. I bought the white colour and found (after 2 hours searching) on the manufacturers website that white, blue and green take a cr2016 battery, not cr2032. They are quite different and I think it is really poor that seller does not provide the proper information or specifications. However, searching other sellers of this light, they all seem to make the same mistake, so I am concluding that the manufacturer is providing them like this. Who knows why? But buyers should be aware of this. Reference for the light specs: http://www.adventurelights.com/images/4/guardian_brochure.PDF (in small print, it specifies different battery for different colour of light). Another UPDATE: After some helpful email back and forth from the manufacturer (Adventure Lights), it was determined that the cause of the issue was not the wrong battery, because in fact the 2023 is the correct one and the brochure I referenced above was quite old. But the problem is still one with the battery. Inside the light there is a thin ribbon of metal that provides the contact from from the top of the battery to the bottom. The design is such that there are little plastic ribs on either side of the ribbon that are designed to keep the batteries from touching the ribbon and shorting out the circuit. Unfortunately, the ribs don't work well enough and I found that I had to insert a small piece of tape to cover the ribbon. Once I did this, the light works great - perfect actually. Too bad it took hours to figure this out. The problem is that the unit comes shipped with a battery "pack" of 2 cr2032 batteries taped together. This tape provides insulation from the batteries touching the ribbon. The first time you change the battery pack for what are normally available loose cr2032 batteries, you will discover the short issue. Just put the piece of tap on and you'll be all set. For $20, I would expect not to have to McGuyver the light this way, but nonetheless, I was impressed by the customer service at Adventure Lights and I'm glad to have working lights that won't go into the landfill. I've added a close up photo of the fix that will make it work with normal cr2032 batteries, cheaply available on Amazon or Ebay.
