Copy of the 1960s Bullworker 2
This is (originally) a Bullworker India "Bullworker 3" model, resold through Body-Solid UK, and is also identical in fundamental design to the original UK Bullworker 2 (circa 1968-1974). Where it differs is in that it uses a yellow gauge marker with a blue powermeter ruler (as opposed to red and clear), the internal spring is slightly stronger, and it felt less smooth to compress (I used GT85 and 3-in-1 oil to improve this). The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it is less smooth than a "genuine" Bullworker but it still gets the job done well. It feels very robust. The current US Bullworker S3 aluminium tubed Classic and Steel Bow models cost £250 and £230, whereas this currently costs £65 (or £104 from Body-Solid UK). So this is excellent value!Update: I removed the rivets in the narrow end, dismantled it and assessed the inner parts because I wasn't satisfied with how rough the operation was. What I found was that the spring was entirely dry and without grease and, more significantly, that the spring guide rod was curved instead of straight. The plastic used to make the guide rod was too soft (it should be rigid) but this did make it easy to reshape especially in hot water. However it is prone to future curvature. I also sharpened the point on the rod so that it would be less likely to catch on the edge of the spring cup as it passes through. Also I noticed another report of cable failure on a facebook page. It seems the cable connection weld (hidden inside the handle at the thick end) is potential problem.Overall my verdict is that this is a classic design let down by cheaper materials and inconsistent manufacture quality control. You'll probably get a great one but there's a possibility it might be a poor one.

A Bit cheap feeling.
As others have said, it feels cheaplyu made and you will get a very loud squeaking on compression. Beleive you can take apart to grease up the springs but haven't got around to it yet. No where near the quality of a pucker Bullworker though.

Better than the others out there
Better than the others out there. Had an original bullworker over 20 years ago and this is better in that it is not as hard to close. Thought I had a damaged plastic force plate, as it was all messed up and made it hard for you to read the scale and they sent me another one straight away... it did not improve things at all... manufacturing defect in this plastic part of the device. otherwise the item is very good. Thank you for sending me a quick replacement part... great service

Lasted just over 1 year
Used the exerciser at least 4 to 5 times a week over the last year to help keep some muscle tone for upper body after hip replacement. Recently the tension has gone out of it and now has no spring capability which is curious, just over a month after the return period ended.
