I've bought 5 so far...
I work from home a lot, so have the main heating on during the day. With these, the radiators in the kids bedrooms shut shut down when they're at school. My office gets heat during the day, but shuts own in the evening, while the TV room gets the heat in the evening. Every room gets its own thermostat and custom schedule, so even though these are quite expensive, they should pay for themselves pretty quickly. We had old style TRV's fitted (I never believed they actually worked!), so adding these just takes a few seconds to unscrew the old dial and put the new one on. They use bluetooth, which can take a few seconds to respond, and has limited range compared to WIFI or zigbee, which would be frustrating for lights, but for heating its not a big deal. HomeKit works great (turn on the lights and the heating can turn on too!), and if your a data junkie there are loads of great data logs to check everything is working, and fine tune everything. Potential downsides: there's no physical control from the unit itself so if you want to turn up the heat you need to grab your phone, and they can only use the heat that's available to them - if your central thermostat turns of the boiler then these can turn the radiator on, but no heat will come out. Tado have announced a similar product with both physical controls, and the ability to talk to the main house thermostat, but nothings shipping yet, and their home kit support is still vapourware. The Tado valves are the same price per rad, but need a central hub, making them more expensive if you don't have a hub already.

Excellent product
A very nice product. Easy on the eyes, easy to install, excellent software and Apple HomeKit compatible. The product fits tidily on the radiator, its smooth lines look better quality than similar products. Installation is made easy by simply following the instructions from the App. Unfortunately you need the App to see what's going on. The smooth lines have no gauges or screens. Everything is via the App. Having said that the App provides lots of information and flexibility. Not only do you get current values but it retains historical info making for a great monitoring tool. The Eve Thermo communicates via Bluetooth. It doesn't require wifi hubs. This independence reduces overall costs but the Bluetooth limits access range to just the house. But you can easily pick up info from one side of the house to the other. That's about 15 metres through a couple of breeze block walls and a floor. There appears to be two negatives with this product. As always there's the price. It looks great quality but it looks like it could easily be sold at £20 cheaper and they'd still be making a handsome profit. The other is measuring the actual room temperature. Being very close to the radiator the temperature is always going to be higher than the true room temperature. The App allows you to adjust for this but it isn't easy to make the correct adjustment. Overall an excellent product with room for improvement.

Create multiple zone heating
I have seven of these Eve Thermos replacing TRVs in some of our radiators. The Thermos allow me to define different heating schedules for different rooms. So, for example, the lounge isn’t heated on weekdays before work, the playroom heating goes off at our daughter’s bedtime, bedrooms are unheated during weekend days etc even when other rooms are heated. The boiler turns on and off automatically via HomeKit when any Thermo demands it.

The build quality and software application was very good. Unfortunately because it uses Bluetooth I had lots of trouble getting it to connect. (iPhone7). The range of Bluetooth is limited so I had be be in the room to collect and data or mark any adjustments. Not ideal to connect multiple devices around a two story house.

No boiler control
Very neat unit and fairly quite when operating. My existing 5 year old Eco3 units are giving up the ghost so looking at replacing with these fellas. The first thing I noticed was the quiet operation. I never had the bedroom radiator come on in a morning with the old system because of the noisy whiring sound as the valve opens, so hopefully this unit will be better. Set up was easy and the exchange of the valve was a doddle. So thought this was the route to go down and started to look at other Eve units, particularly a boiler switch, to my surprise there isn't one??? So I'm in a strange situation where I can remotely open up the radiator valves but can't fire up the boiler? Where's the logic in that? So, what I've had to do is purchase the Eve power socket and have it operate a mains relay purchased from Maplins and fit a plastic box to put it in! So I set a scene up in Apple HomeKit and it works fine. Then I hit another hurdle. These units work via Bluetooth so you have to be conscious of distance from your phone. In fact, just setting this up for operation from just your iPhone is a bad idea as remote operation away from home is a non runner. You really need a central hub. This can be your iPad and/or your AppleTV box. Luckily I had a TV box kicking around. Hardly used it as I prefer the Amazons fire TV so found a use for it now! One other thing, I had a manual override on the old system, if it got its knickers in a twist, batteries died, or wireless died, I could put a small plastic key into it and manually open the valve and then manually switch on the boiler. With this unit there is no such feature. You need your iPhone iPad connection otherwise it won't function. You could probably unscrew it from the valve but maybe difficult with the pressure of the valve pin pushing against the unit. Why do I feel like I've gone backwards?

Great product with smart functionality. A bit expensive to control central heating if you have a lot of radiator.
