Product Description Every episode of the BBC comedy from all three series of the anarchic, violent sitcom, following the fortunes of Richie Richard (Rik Mayall) and Eddie Hitler (Adrian Edmondson), two grotesque losers living in a squalid flat in London and trying to make sense of their pointless existence.◆ Series 1 episodes are: 'Smells', 'Gas', 'Contest', 'Apocalypse', ''S Up' and 'Accident'.◆ Series 2 episodes are: 'Digger', 'Culture', 'Burglary', 'Parade', 'Holy' and ''S Out'.◆ Series 3 episodes are: 'Hole', 'Terror', 'Break', 'Dough', 'Finger' and 'Carnival'. .co.uk Review Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson give the flat-share sitcom a much needed kick up the Bottom in the show which, alongside Men Behaving Badly (1992-8) injected new life into a legendarily dire genre. With glorious comic gusto they play Richie Rich and Eddie Hitler, a pair of misfits barely surviving unemployment in a Hammersmith hovel. They spend their life in frustration, minus female company or money, in facile schemes to entertain or better themselves, their best intentions always proving the catalyst for hilariously OTT cartoon-style violence. The humour benefits from being rude, crude and surreal, and though happily bereft of subtlety or sense the situations and set-pieces are always superbly constructed, delivered and directed. But that's only to be expected from a show that essentially presents two of The Young Ones a decade down the line. Mayall and Edmondson had earlier perfected their surreal double act as The Dangerous Brothers and these first episodes of Bottom find them in side-splitting form. From a misadventure with pheromone spray and the wrong sort of dogs down the pub in "Smells" to a birthday "Accident", which introduces The Young Ones' Christopher Ryan as a regular guest character, this is BBC comedy at its best. Brace yourself, 'cos this is going to hurt.--Gary S Dalkin

Not your gentle sitcom
Great anarchic comedy from the genius minds of Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson who are back from starring in the Young Ones team up to create a show that is not PC and would never get made today. The flat the two characters share is filthy but has a certain charm when Rik and Ade start cartoon slapstick style aka Tom trying to get Jerry the mouse cartoon hi jinks style at each other. This only appeals to a certain generation who grew up with freedom to choose a show able to express feelings without getting cancelled because todays generation are too soft!Loved the Young Ones you'll love this.

Great price for classic comedy.
I saw some really expensive prices elsewhere for thus boxset but this was by far the cheapest and it works great.

Comedy at its finest and anarchic best
Moving on from the young ones, Ade and Rick have gone up about two notches with this comedy genius series! Can’t pick a best episode, but the big wheel and Xmas dinner are among the best sitcoms EVER!!! The line in the Xmas dinner is among the best ever

Two Bottoms One Loser - Usually Richy.
As most reviewers have already mentioned this is not Intellectual humour, if you want that Monty Python is where to go.But if you're just looking to spend half an hour of mindless "cartoony" crazyness then you've come to the right place.Among my friends I am in a minority as they prefer "The Young Ones", but "Bottom" has always been my favourite.(Although I do own "The Young Ones box set" as well.)~~~~All the episodes have good bits in them but for me standout episodes are:Gas:- Oh, that poor gasman! forced to drink so much tea, "The best in London", then hit with a frying pan so many many times, and all the while just trying to read the meter.(My favourite.)Digger:- Richy sells a kidney to pay for a ...ahem.."romantic encounter", but it's Eddy who gets his way.'S out:- The Camping one, filled with Hobnobs and Wombles. Eddie and Rich go camping in the country. (Well twenty yards from the bus stop actually. Second favourite.)Hole:- Stuck at the top of a ferris wheel. A good character development story, and we learn Rik's character has... a SISTER! But with smaller jugs! (Shudder)~A THREE DISC SET.Disc 1 series 1 (1991)1/ Smells2/ Gas3/ Contest4/ Apocalypse5/ 'S Up6/ Accident~Disc 2 series 2 (1992)1/ Digger2/ Culture3/ Burglary4/ Parade5/ Holy (Full version.)6/ 'S Out~Disc 3 series 3 (1995)1/ Hole2/ Terror3/ Break4/ Dough5/ Finger6/ Carnival.
