Pretty Good
I’m a huge fan of Ms Modglin and she never disappoints. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because I couldn’t grasp her being with a man for 7 years and not get a glimpse of the monster in him. But love makes you blind to a lot of things. It was difficult to follow all the lineage twists and turns, but the author does that (twists) a lot, which is fine by me!

absolutely loved
I am absolutely in love with this author. She has had me gripped from the first page. I have read at least six books from her and have not been disappointed. I think this one was probably my favorite. I did not see the story unfolding the way it did. Keep them coming.

Fast read suspense novel
Characters were a bit underdeveloped but plot held up. Plot seemed to be a bit rushed in the last part of the book. But if you want a fast read which will keep your attention, this book is a good choice..

Quick read
Read this in a day and a half. You get sucked in and then have to know what’s going on. The ending was a little weird to me but overall not bad.

Being Rich Will Make’s You Power Hungry, and A Little Crazy
LowellAustynFallonDallasThe Bass FamilyTheir family estate:Home: The Pond“There’s plenty of bass in the pond” -Family joke.As Austyn is on the verge of marrying Lowell Bass, a family tragedy strikes as Lowell parent both pass away in a “ family accident”Thus, Austyn, is never given an opportunity to meet her respective In-Laws.So, as the Bass family gather to deal with the funeral, burial, and their wishes regarding their wills, Austyn finds herself in a bit if a predicament.Lowell, future husband, now CEO, of Bass Industries, presents her with what may now be their new life, in a new city, in a whopping BIG new home, with huge amounts of staff. This is a huge step up from what Austin’s life had been with Lowell, running her little Bakery in Nashville. There is also the issue with her friend Emily, who contacts her after a year, in tears, telling her she is going through a divorce from hubby Greyson. The same Emily, who ends up staying at “ The Pond” ( Just for a few days while she sorts herself out ) and admits to Lowell, in front of Austyn, that she was slightly obsessed with him in college. This little confession causes Austin’s green eyed monster to come out.A feeling that doesn’t abate,as she finds Lowell and Emily, sharing moments together.Add to this Dallas Bass, Lowell’s younger, black sheep brother, who Austyn feels draw to..NO! ..Gets all hot and bothered around.( can this REALLY be happening)And it appears, the feeling is mutual.Add to this, the discovery of a journal writing by a sixteen year old employee’s daughter from the seventies that contains a shocking family secret. And, you could say Austyn has her hand full.Especially when it comes to light that Mr and Mrs Bass’s deaths might not have been accidental at all.It seems they died of an overdose.Deemed “an accident” despite their reputation for over indulging in the odd recreational drug, or two.As soon as this book started I thought…Hmmm…I’m going to keep an eye on that Dallas, he might possibly have the most interesting character development out of the whole family.Well.I wasn’t wrong, but ALL the Bass siblings had changes in character. No all for the greater good. Not a bad little suspense thriller, but like all Kiersten’s books, some character arc’s don’t go in the way you expect, while others don’t go far enough. But this is still a good read even though family tree plot line, got away from me a bit. Thus, that ending…Well,Thinks got a little crazy, and convoluted.Three stars
