A brilliant, practical device, and a joy to use!
I purchased this to link my Samsung Galaxy Note running Android 4.4.4 to my Honda Jazz (2006) as it has an AUX port and no Bluetooth. Previously, I used to have a charging and 3.5mm cables plugged in, but it was very inconvenient and messy.I knew the Kinovo was small, but after unboxing, I was pleased to see that it was even smaller than I thought, so I managed to easily find a convenient and discreet spot on the dashboard. The provided 2 x 3M pads are strong and have endured hot weather over the last few days with a strong bond and no movement.I connected the power and AUX, and turned the ignition 1 turn. The Kinovo turned on and was immediately in pairing mode and so I added the device on my phone - no passkey required. A jingle played once connected (this plays every time it connects) After that, it was ready!A single press on the main button opened up my default music application (Google Play Music) and continued playing the last played file on my phone. Another press would pause the music and close the application on the phone. The should buttons of the Kinovo skip tracks just like on any MP3 or CD player. Music quality is very good, no skips and as good as plugging the phone in directly to the AUX.Answering incoming calls is simple, a single press of the main button answers, and another press hangs up. The sound quality is clear with no missed audio during conversations (given phone signal is good!). When asking the caller about the sound for them, they have said that the volume is slightly faint as if I was using speakerphone, which I am. During all conversations, even driving at 60mph (the Honda Jazz does not have good sound insulation) I was not asked to repeat any part of the conversation. When used with Google Maps navigation, the music volume is lowered for voice directions and returns to normal afterwards. My only issue is not with this device at all, but with Google Now on Android - holding down the Kinovo's main button for 2-3 seconds activates voice commands on your phone. But upon doing so, Google Now opens, but no voice input is received. From what I have read and after trying another Bluetooth handsfree device, this is an issue with Google Now.After use, as soon as the key is removed from the ignition, the Kinovo is disconnected - exactly how car Bluetooth devices should be!Regardless of the voice input issues with my phone, I would not hesitate to purchase this product again. It's a very welcome addition to cars with limited expansion for technology and I highly recommend this product!

BTC450
I purchased the btc450 for two reasons: 1. It would only work through the cigarette lighter. This would save the effort of charging it. 2. It had aptX which my friend said was better than a2dp, apparently my phone supports it (Galaxy S3).The fact it had a hands free kits didn't bother me as there is one already in my car. Android devices allow you to choose what device you link up to. So I had the music to the btu450 and the calls to the car. I did test the hands free and the caller said it sounded much better than my car one. So I will be using it for both. Excellent. The sound quality is very good indeed. Clear at all frequencies. I did hear noise through it though. This is not the fault of the btc450 but of the car (Mazda 6). I tried it in another car and there was no noise. It apparently comes from having the ground for the cigarette lighter and car stereo in different places causing ground loops. I purchased a kensington noise reducing cable (ground loop isolator) that Mr Sundareshawar recommended in his review along with the 3.5 female to female coupler. This worked excellently. No more strange noises. To test to see if you will get this issue: charge your phone with the 12V socket you would use and plug your phone into the aux through the headphones. Put your stereo on aux, if there is noise coming though with no music you will most likely need the cable. Make sure the volume is not 0 as some stereos will cut the connection so you won't hear anything. The usability when connected is excellent. The middle button connects to S Voice (a feature on Samsung mobiles) this allows you to ring people by saying the name in the phone book. It also works with my wife's siri Button on her iPhone.I placed mine on the dash where the stereo is. The finish is very good and blends well with my dash. Enough that it could actually be there from the manufacturer. It was quite difficult hiding the wire. Most of my dash just pulls off so I could get it so far, but it is just visible under the stereo. I will try and upload a picture. I was worried about the sticky pad not being strong enough. This is not the case and will enable you to press the buttons without it coming off.All in all an excellent product and well recommended. Make sure you do a test for noise.

Very good quality and very practical
It's a very nice little bluetooth receiver with very good sound. I have an iPhone and I have set the EQ on bass booster, and this provides reasonable compensation for the loss of bass through bluetooth. This has also caused a loss of volume, but I can use the car's own Aux amplifier to resolve that. I use it mostly for music, but call quality seems to be very good too. The microphone on the receiver seems to be okay. The receiver is very easy to use and connects to the phone very fast. The only drawback is that it remembers only one device. If someone else in the family uses it with another device, next time you use it you have to reconnect it to your own device. If it is used with only one device all the time, it's perfect. When you start the car, it connects in just 2-4 seconds and you can start playing music by simply pressing play on the receiver itself. You don't have to take your phone out, unlock screen, open Music app and play.Another drawback is that it does not use a micro USB to charge. That would have made it useful also outside the car, when travelling.Overall, it's an excellent option if you don't have other connectivity features in your car (mine is 4 years old and has only a CD player and Aux in).

then I made a call to test the audio quality in order to determine the best position to place the microphone/control unit
I bought this after recently changing car to one which had a 3.5mm aux input jack plug fitted to the car radio. I primarily wanted it for its handsfree capability for the odd occasions that I receive calls whilst on the move. I was a little bit sceptical about this little device, concidering its low price , but it has exceeded my expectations 10 fold!Installation and setup was simple , I installed the car kit in my Mazda MX5, which has both 12v socket and 3.5mm aux conveniently situated together in a coin tray in front of the gear lever, below the radio. I plugged the two sockets in, then followed the simple pairing process which was all controlled through my iPhone's accessibility settings, then I made a call to test the audio quality in order to determine the best position to place the microphone/control unit . I finally settled on a place near my left elbow on the centre console , which enabled me to route the cabling under the centre console with a bare minimum of visible wiring, then finally used the adhesive pad provided to fix the unit. Installed in this manner, the kit looks very discreet.Pairing of the unit is automatic when you turn the ignition on provided your phones Bluetooth is switched on .In use the unit works clearly and efficiently, with a single press to answer calls provided your radio is set to aux, and exceptional audio quality to calls as they come through your cars audio system. I usually listen to the car radio , or play CDs in the car which does require me to manually switch my cars audio system to aux prior to handling calls, though I have steering wheel audio controls which make this easy to do. I don't have a vast library of music stored on my phone , though during my brief test of its wireless audio streaming it worked clearly and efficiently. The 12v socket for this unit has a convenient USB charging port to allow charging of devices whilst on the move, whilst still using the handsfree.Since buying my first one of these excellent little devices, I have now installed two more of these , one in my second car ( Land Rover defender) , and one in my wife's VW Up , and she is delighted with hers, preferring it to her previous Parrot Minikit.

Great quality and easy to set up
Can't fault this product. It was really easy to set up and the sound quality from my iphone to my car speakers is as good as connecting it via a cable. It plays music from my iPhone library or straight from the spotify app. I can also make and receive phone calls which are clear for both the caller and receiver. When the call is finished it starts playing the music again. Not all bluetooth products allow you to both make calls and play music but this one does. My Tom Tom sat nav app on the iPhone also plays over bluetooth to the car speakers. It also works whilst charging and the iPhone pairs automatically as soon as you turn on the ignition so you can almost forget it is there. I have a separate charger for my phone for long journeys but it will work if your phone is on charge or not.I spent a long time looking at suitable products and this is perfect and great value for money. It just proves you don't have to spend a fortune.

What a fantastic car Bluetooth adaptor!
I couldn't quite believe some of the effusive reviews of this product, but once I plugged it in I also had no doubt in my mind. This is tbe best Bluetooth adaptor I've ever tried. To understand the design of the product, imagine three wires radiating from a central point (hub). One of the wires terminates in an aux in plug, another in a 5V cigarette lighter plug, and the third in a sort of disk-like 'control unit' (as pictured on the product information page). The latter incorporates the microphone, the single push button to answer calls and two tiny buttons to move up or down through your music. The control knob can be stuck onto the dashboard with the provided double-sided glue disk (there's a spare) and of course I won't need to clarify where the other two wires end up. Plenty of wire length in all three directions to accommodate variations in positioning of Aux in and cigarette lighter sockets. For instance, in my MK4 Mondeo the Aux-in socket is inside the glove box (the Ford designer must've been high on that day!!), but as the plug is L-shaped I can still close the box once this is plugged in.How is it like in practise? Well, in one word, superb. Pairs effortlessly with my Galaxy S3 every time I get into the car, the quality of the music or calls through the speakers is absolutely FANTASTIC. Really cannot tell the difference between this and a wired connection from my phone. Some reviews have stated the unit incorporates the AptX Bluetooth protocol - it doesn't. But to be honest I find A2DP perfectly adequate. Most if not all cars have a powerdown circuit which shuts off power to the cigarette lighter socket, so I don't anticipate having this plugged in causing any battery drain issues. I've stuck the control unit with the mic halfway up my dashboard but I'm sure it will pick up my voice even if attached underneath the dashboard or hidden away somewhere else close by.£25 well spent, and I'm no longer pfaffing around with the rechargeable Bluetooth adaptor that was attached to my sun visor and had a particularly nasty habit of losing charge in the middle of a call on the M25.If you're thinking about getting one, don't. BUY IT!

Didn’t even last 4 months before breaking
Bought this in December to replace one that had stopped working when the wire snapped. Less than 4 months later this one has failed too - no visible damage, it just no longer connects and I suspect the long thin fiddly wire is to blame again. It is a flimsy product and not very robust, am very disappointed at how quickly it broke.

Excellent Product
What should you honestly expect for £19.99?It comes in a box. The wiring is as fine and unobtrusive as possible. The 12V adapter fits into your lighter socket and the 3.5mm plug into the aux-in (an extension lead is supplied in case the two things are miles away from each other). You then stick the controller somewhere within reach on the dash - two double-sided sticky pads are supplied. A couple of cable ties or tape to neaten it all up and then turn on the ignition and search for it using your phone's bluetooth menu (Galaxy S3 in my case). Pairing is automatic. It works perfectly. Music from the phone comes through the speakers - quality is as good as the CD player in the car - a little bass-heavy in my case but a tweak of the eq fixed that easily. The phone works brilliantly. The built in mic sounds clear (apparently) and you can hear your caller through the car speakers nice and loud. You could rip out your car stereo, buy a big adapter for the hole in the dash, all sorts of wiring and steering wheel control adapters and an after-market stereo with built in bluetooth but you'd be an idiot - you'd still want to plug your phone in to charge and have it on a cradle so it wouldn't look any better either and you'd still have a cable trailing down the front of your dashboard.Did I mention it was only £19.99?......

Einfach perfekt!!
Volle Punktzahl!!

One month review: Excellent product
I had been looking at a bluetooth hands-free option for my car and looked at many popular brands (Belkin). I was also concerned with the fact that bluetooth being a wireless technology, I will be loosing quality of the sound when streaming music over bluetooth. I zeroed in on this one after reading some excellent review on Amazon.com (US). Kinivo may not be a very popular brand but this product is well worth every penny. This product is an excellent fit for any car. I have been using this well over a month now and can say I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.Pros:1. If you own an AptX supported device like the Xperia Z3 look no further, this bluetooth device is AptX compatible, and gives an extremely superb audio quality when streamed over bluetooth2. Auto connects when the car is started3. Good in-call voice quality4. Supports voice commands with Google Now (Use the BTNow app to switch from voice dialler to Google Now) to speak commands to get directions, play music etcCons: (Nothing major. Works perfect!!)1. Wires are a quite thin & delicate, but if you install the kit with care, they shouldn't bother you much. You are not really going to wire on and off this thing every time. Its a car kit. It just stays there once you install.

Best option for cars with an auxilary input
I love my car but it's just old enough that it doesn't have built-in Bluetooth. I had been using a Bluetooth earpiece for several years but I find it annoying. I keep forgetting to take it with me and I even lost it once and had to buy another one. My wife's car has integrated Bluetooth and I had been looking at solutions that are compatible with my car. I'd seen a lot of speakers that hang off your sun visor but I don't think I like that design. I then found a small device from Belkin that plugs into your aux jack and mounts somewhere on your dashboard. It was $79.99 and had fairly decent reviews, but then I found this. The Kinivo BTC450 looks very similar to the Belkin but is literally half the price. I figured for $39.99 I could take a chance and see if it worked, and if it didn't, it would be a lot easier to swallow than the $80 Belkin.I have to tell you this is a great device. I have had no issues with it and works great. Since there are really no settings for this, everything has to be done through your phone, which in my case is an iPhone 4S. To use it, you need to plug the power adapter into the 12-volt socket and the aux cord into the aux input. In my case, they are in my center console under the armrest. Then you mount the device somewhere you have a nice flat surface, which in my case is on the panel near the gearshift. Now, turn on your car's power and pair it with your phone. It's easier to pair than any other device I've used. To use it, you need to select the auxiliary input on your stereo. This device can be used for two things. First and foremost, it allows you to make handsfree calls. I've yet to actually make a call while driving, but I've received several calls and all you need to do is push the big button to answer and again to hang up. If you're listening to the radio or a CD, you'll first need to change the stereo's input to Auxilary so you can use it (if you don't the other person will be able to hear you as the microphone is built into the device, but you won't be able to hear them). The second use is that it allows you to stream music wirelessly to this device. For years I've been plugging my phone (and before that, my MP3 player) into the aux jack using a 2 or 3-foot cord. Now I don't need to do that anymore. Less wear and tear on your headphone jack and you no longer need to use the phone's controls to change tracks. Instead, there are two buttons on the top of this device that allows you to skip to the next or previous track. Need to pause the song? Push the big button. If no music is playing and you push the button, it will start playing. The sound quality is indistinguishable from a wired connection. I recall in the past people had to use a wireless FM transmitter to play music from a portal CD player to a car stereo. I had trepidation at first regarding this device because of that past experience as those never worked well and this is light years beyond that technology. What's really nice is that if you are listing to music and someone calls you, it will pause the music player, allow you to talk, and when you are done, it unpauses the music where it left off. Another great thing is that this unpairs from your phone when you turn off the car and re-pairs when you start it back up. You don't need to manually do this which is nice and you shouldn't have an issue when you leave your car and the Bluetooth is still activated.Just a few caveats...first time I received a call with this unit, the ringer, which plays though your car speakers, blew me away. It was way too loud. I had to turn down the ringer volume on my phone. If you use your stereo's volume knob, then you'll have a hard time hearing to the person you're talking to, therefore you will need to find a happy medium. Also, I had to turn up the volume on the music player (which I believe has no effect on your battery unlike a wired connection) because when you skip tracks you hear a loud beep confirming the button press. If you don't adjust the volume on your phone, the beeps will be extremely loud and annoying. Luckily, I was able to find the correct volume levels. Also, if you turn up the volume on your phone, you won't need to turn the volume up so high on your car's stereo. When I first started using this device I heard a buzzing sound coming from my speakers. I saw that Amazon was selling a ground loop isolator that would supposedly fix this, but it turned out my car's stereo was turned up too high so adjusting the volume on the car and the phone took care of this problem.I should also note that the 12-volt adapter has a USB input so you can charge your phone using a separate charging cable. This is a nice feature. It also comes with an extension cable for the aux wire if needed. The wires coming out of this unit are very thin and I assume delicate. Since my unit is mounted near the gearshift in the center console and the cord runs along the top of the center console, I ran a risk of catching it on something and I am sure a good yank would damage it. So what I did was got a wire wrap from Home Depot, wrapped it around the cable, and then pushed it in the gap between the bottom of the center console and the floor. This way, very little of the wire is exposed and therefore it should be very safe from damage. While not as nice or convenient than having Bluetooth built into your car, this is the best option I've seen and kills two birds with one stone -- I can use it for calls as well as listing to music and I don't need to worry about plugging anything in each time I enter the car. Definitely recommended!
