The Studio Reader: On the Space of Artists

very informative book on artists' working space. I love the selection of artists in the list and the wonderful description of what studio means for these people. We often curious on how artists translate their solitary working space in relation to their practice, and how the work are often shaped by these spaces. Each artist bring his/her philosophy which ultimately show a glimpse on the visual arrangements of the space as well as their attitude and work ethic. I highly recommend this bool for student artist, emerging artist, art teachers and enthusiasts.

The bits of I have gotten to for class have been fantastic. A particularly under represented subject, this was a perfect read for this point in my career (about to graduate with an MFA in Graphic Communications, and ready to enter the world of work, hopefully in academia.)

Great read!!! Buy this if you're a practicing contemporary artist who's looking for inspiration and golden nuggets of knowledge and strategies surrounding balancing a personal life with a professional one.

Interesting topic but sometimes I had a hard time understanding some sections.

Es una lectura necesaria para profundizar en el análisis de los espacios del arte moderno y contemporáneo. Aunque no se aborda en casi ningún punto una perspectiva Lefebvriana, si se establece con frecuencia la relación entre estudio y museo. Creo que aporta ideas interesantes para comprender la producción del espacio en este ámbito. Algunos artíclulos son prefectamente prescindibles, pero otros me han parecido brillantes.
