Wonderful
I found some of Emily Brontë’s poetry in a biography I read about the Brontës and thought it was lovely. Some of her poems are very evocative and have a real naïveté to them but that adds to the charm because they were written from her heart for no one else to read but her.I was really happy to find a book of her works and would recommend just because they’re charming, innocent and sometimes incredibly moving with a real insight to how she viewed her world and lives around her.

An excellent purchase and a book which I have long wanted to own. If you admire Emily Bronte's poetry then this is THE book which you must have. It will give an even greater insight into her poetry and her life.

Bought after the TV programmes about the sisters and their father and brother. Her poetry is not completely too my taste but she deserves a much larger reputation than she has.

Brontë fan
This book is very worth the purchase if you're a Brontë and Victorian literature avid reader. Emily's poetry is beautiful and really well made beyond her years.

While I have not read all the poems, those read are exquisite.
I have never read any poet (including Shakespeare) whose entire repertoire was great. Emily's poetry is up and down but to my mind mostly up. Some of the poems can tear at the heart strings; others can cause you to think seriously. At times the beautiful sounds of the strings of words are simply lovely. At times the rhythm patterns jar and I think she had done that to emphasize the thought. That these wonderful poems were written by a women who died of TB at age 30 is a testament to her overall poetic genius. But don't listen to me; listen to a wonderful English poetess.

8.5 x 11?
It’s Emily Bronte. What can I say? The poetry is wonderful, which I knew in advance. I wasn’t expecting a large-print edition and didn’t want one. Can’t slip it in my purse or go-bag to travel around with me. I’ll keep it, but will continue my hunt for a standard size volume. Sometimes bigger is not better.P.S. The rating is for the poetry itself. Not the format.
