Worked Well
Our dog was not too happy about having this on him. He developed a bad rash and we had to use an ointment on it. He was trying to lick it off. So I bought this cone. I was going to buy a traditional cone but saw this and decided to give it a try. We do not put his collar through it even though it is designed to do that. We just put it on him when we apply the ointment and then we take it off after the ointment dries and he has forgotten it is on him. The first day he kept taking this off and he figured out how to deflate it by getting the valve opened. So we make sure to put that down instead of up near his mouth. He also got used to it being on and hasn't tried taking it off after the first day. We just kept putting it back on and telling him no he had to keep it on. So then he learned he had to keep it on and does really good with it. It is hard to walk in. He is 24 pounds. But he does pretty good. We sometimes have to help him get up over the lip of his dog bed. Also, the benefit of the inflatable cone is that it is like a pillow. When he resting in his bed then he rests his head on this. If he had a traditional cone then I feel that would be very uncomfortable. This is probably uncomfortable also. I would not want something like this around my neck. But it is better than the cones of shame. His rash is pretty much healed (using blue butter ointment) and so I like we can also deflate this and store it without it taking up a lot of room. Hopefully we will never have to use it again but just in case.

Works well and better than a cone!
Overall this worked very well for our 10-month-old Australian Sheperd when we got her spayed a couple of weeks ago. She really doesn't seem to mind it at all and she likes it better than the body suit we got her to use as well. The only complaint I have is that I am not sure how well the straps on the inside opening that you are supposed to put the collar through are sown in. Within an hour of putting the donut on her after we got her home on the day of surgery, she had a jerk reaction and was able to rip one out with her paw. I sowed it back in but decided to try putting it on her without putting the collar through those straps. This actually worked just fine this way for us because she didn't seem to mind it and didn't try to get it off. It wouldn't have worked that way if she wanted off because she could have just pushed it off if she really wanted to.

Good Product
As you can see from the Pictures, my little man (9.6 short legged pup). The collar looks so big on him and it was a little (we did measure him and his collar to make sure we had the correct necked size) but compared to the cone it was a lot better for him. I feel that the sizing depends on the type of dog you have as well as the neck size. He did find a way out of it using his front paws and pushing over his head. But we read the directions and there is a way you can thread their collar thru the inside and it will stay on better. So during the time he is with us he can wear this but when we have to go to work it is back to the cone bless him. But over all I would recommend buying this.

No More Cone
My dog would freak out in a bad way whenever we tried to use the cone on him to keep him from biting himself during allergy season. When he had to have surgery on his behind, the doctor told me that sometimes dogs get scared with the cone because they cannot see properly. From the time I put this collar on him, he was puzzled at first, then relaxed and was able to look around and eat properly. He tried to reach his incision, but could not quite get his head twisted around enough to reach it. He then gave up and seemed to relax and get used to it. He wore it for 2 weeks without any issues, although it did require him to rest differently. We will definitely use this again when necessary!

Glad to be RID of the Cone!
I have a 12mo old Pomeranian that just had his neuter surgery and was sent home from the vet with a large cone to wear for 10-15 days. Although it was sized for a smaller dog, the hard plastic cone was unwieldy and uncomfortable for my Pom. In addition, he kept bumping into things and it was hard for him to sleep in.After 6 days of the hard plastic cone, I decided that there must be a better option. Although I did measure before I ordered, and this inflatable collar does go completely around his little neck, it did not look as wide as the pictures portrayed it to be. Once I got it on him & he was released from the cumbersome cone, he immediately began his typical rough-housing and playful biting with our other dog (sheltie) which I feared might pop the inflatable insert. But, it held up fine despite the biting, and seems to be working at preventing my Pom from getting to his surgery site. Glad I made the purchase! (see pictures)

Works better than the clear ones from the vet.
My dog had to have a growth removed from her cheek and she needed to wear a cone for 10 - 14 days. The one the vet provided (the typical clear cone) didn't work very well for her. She couldn't go up and down stairs. It kept getting stuck on the lawn when she was sniffing the ground, and she kept running into corners of furniture. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to leave her alone safely. I decided to order this inflatable cone to see if it would work. It was a game changer! She can eat and drink with it on. She can go up and down stairs. She can sniff the ground as much as she likes. She isn't running into things. It has made her life much better while she needs to wear this cone.

Donut boy
Really glad I ordered this collar ahead of my dog’s surgery. The vet sent him home in a plastic cone variation, and my poor boy was extremely uncomfortable in it. Switched out the cone for the donut and the boy stopped crying and passed out, waking up refreshed and playful. The only downside, I left him alone for less than an hour and found him with the donut around his waist. It still did the job to stop him from licking his wound, but the donut itself was dangerously close to his wound.

It worked
It worked but my dog had a moment when his paw got stuck in the space between the opening and the black Velcro strap. I didn't feel comfortable leaving it on him when I left the house. Watch your pup. They'll probably be okay if post procedure since they won't be very active after mild-full sedation. When they start to get more active it can be an issue. Definitely more comfortable for the dog than the cone. He had the freedom to do whatever he wanted minus licking his paw.

Doughnut neck collar
I read the sizing info on this product before buying. It said to size up for our dog breed. I did this. Put it on my dog, unfortunately he managed to pull it off straight away. There are collar hoops on the inside so I will try threading it onto his usual collar, hopefully that might work. The product itself seems fine though. Far better than those awful plastic lampshade types.

Comfortable for my spaniel after spaying
I am so glad I got this. Its been a total life saver. Little Ruby, a cocker spaniel, has been so much more comfortable wearing this, then the awful cone of shame. You slip her collar in the inflatable collars loops, then you can easily take it on and off. Also, she can eat with the collar on, which you can't with the cone. And you can still fit her snood on, to stop meat juice getting on her ears when eating.I also got her some foam steps, so she can sit on the sofa, next to me, which have also been amazing. And I use them to help her get into and out of the car. Very happy with my purchase.

Good collar
This is definitely a good collar for pets however, i have found that my cat cannot sleep properly when using it.

Good idea for dogs
Very good better than big plastic funnel I was given by the vet. It stopped her walking into everything and saved the backs of my legs from being bashed.

Didn’t work on this occasion for me
Easy to use, blow it up ( no pump - luckily l already had one - as difficult to blow up by mouth ) attach to dogs collar - seemed comfortable very quickly got used to it - though my kitten had his hackles up as didn’t recognise himAs my Cockapoos wound was on his front foot it didn’t work as he could still get to it, so we went back to the vets cone of shame (this they had to change to an extra long one) will keep collar as may come in useful for future surgeries that are not quite so easy to get to- as by the reviews other people had success with it.
