Liquitex Professional Acrylic Medium for Arcylic Paint, Modelling Paste, 946 ml

Good quality matte fluid medium as expected from Liquitex. I enjoy using it in my art work. Good for attaching and sealing up collage in mixed media abstract painting.

Large tub for a great price. Recieved quick, packeged well with a sealed lid. The actual paste is a bright (titanium) white colour, not too thick or thin - a perfect consistency (It's a bit like peanut butter) and matt. I use it on stretched canvases for abstract painting using pallette knives. Very easy to use and spread, dries quite quickly, I would say approximatly half hour to an hour or so and the look at the end is amazing. The paste is great for creating some 3-D effects and giving paintings depth and texture. There is one minor issue that I found. This could be because I use this on canvas: The paste, once dried, cracks quite easily. Solution: I apply a paint sealer and it gives it a fantastic protection film. Overall, amazing product. Would definetly buy again.

I'm a miniature painter and have taken to using Acrylic Medium for thinning my paints as opposed to water. I uae Citadel paint hence strated with their brand of Medium but at around £2 for 12ml.. this would have been ridiculously expensive in the long term. Liquitex have agood reputation to I bought nearly half a litre of their Matt Acrylic Medium for around £15.. the citadel equivalent would have cost me £80! This stuff is a lot thicker and opaque than the Citadel medium. So it can't be used neat. I found I needed to mix at least 1:1 medium:water to get an acceptable consistency. There appears to be no effect on the lightness of the paint & dries clear. In comparison to my previous Medium, this isn't quite as good.. perhaps due to having to use a LOT of water thus reducing the benefit? However, overall, I'm quite happy with the purchase. Used with Flow Aid & Retarder, it makes the basis for quite a powerful mix.

I wanted something that would slow my drying time and make my acrylics behave more like oil paints. …I purchased a slightly different product at first; the Liquitex Slow Dry Blending Retarder. Big mistake! After the first layer of painting dried, I went to do a second layer over the top (very common painting practice) and the underlay of paint just came scraping off in odd round strips and balls. It was so disheartening. I had worked for several hours and days on the painting. It was completely ruined. --Then-- I noticed this, which had almost the exact same name and packaging! Liquitex Slow Dry Blending Gel Medium (This Product here) was amazing! You can use as much as you want on your painting and it makes everything look and behave like oil paints, so buttery and silky beautiful! --This was just what I had hoped to find the first time. I also purchased this same product in the liquid form, which was great too. The gel helps to bulk up your paint more. It depends on what you want, but both forms are wonderful. Gutes, dickflüssiges Mattmedium ( Konsistenz in etwa wie Ketchup), das sich auch zum Aufkleben von dünnem Papier verwenden lässt oder zum Mischen mit Softpastellfarben. Für mich unverzichtbar und eine Ergänzung zum dickeren, pastosen Gel Medium.
