This case protects my external hard drive as expected. It is not waterproof, so be smart with use it. You will be fine. My background is in IT, so it will serve its purpose.

UPDATED to add that the case is a lot sturdier than I originally thought. The hard drive stays secure under the elastic band and it doesn't wiggle at all when the case is moved or tussled. The padding is definitely enough to protect the contents.Inside of case has elastic band on one side, that fits the hard drive securely, and a netted half pocket on other side, which might store a shorter cable depending on size. No problem fitting the thicker 5tb WD “my passport” hard drive, in fact, it fits more snug and secure than the thinner smaller drives.Padding is a little squishy, like thinner plastic under the fabric outer covering, but I don’t tend to travel with my hard drives, so it will be perfectly adequate for home storage. For the price, it’s a good storage solution.

Sturdy and nice HD case for lower cost than others

This case was perfect for my 2.5" Western Digital external hard drive. The case is durable, I have no doubt it will product my hard drive. I like that the zipper has a pull tag loop. It makes opening the case very easy and gives you something to hold onto when you carry it. The zipper feels durable, not like the flimsy zippers that break the second time you use it. The design on the inside it is nice. One side fits my hard drive perfectly and includes a strap that keeps is held in place. The other side has a mesh pocket to hold the data cable. I have another case I use for my old hard drive. This new case is slimmer and easier to fit in your pocket. I guess this makes sense because the hard drives now a days are also slimmer. If you are looking for an external hard drive case look no further.

I have a Western Digital Passport and this case fits it perfectly! The hard exterior feels solid with it bending just a slight amount. The fabric on the outside looks and feels nice. It also gives it a nice texture to grip onto. The inside has a felt material around the exterior walls. A elastic band spans one side and a mesh net on the other side. With the hard exterior the single elastic band through the middle hold the drive securely. The mesh net holds the hard drive cord fairly well. The zipper around the outside feels smooth. It has a rubber loop you can hook a finger onto easily.This hard drive case was a extremely good value at about six bucks. There were a few loose threads near the main zipper but were easy enough to clean up.

I'm actually using this for something different than its original drive protection purpose. For me this was the perfect size for carrying charging cables and a couple outlet adapters for USB-A/-C. Everything fits nicely, and zipped up it barely takes up any room. Its fairly sturdy, but I don't think it would offer much protection if dropped from a decent height, like the top of a car, or something.Overall though, it's a great pouch, and I've found that it's definitely something I keep with me most days. 100% recommend.
