DEWALT Mechanics Tool Set, 84-Piece (DWMT81531)

Good set of tools for being able to do most things you’d come into during an average day . Good for a in the car tools set or could even pretty reasonably carry it on a motorcycle .

Great set of sockets in a wide range of both metric and SAE sizes in a sturdy hard case. Typical DeWalt quality material and build. It comes packaged with a foam insert, presumably to protect during shipping... I had a previous socket set that the smaller pieces would fall out of their slot unless I added padded to hold them in place but this set seems to stay in place just fine; however, I think I will keep the foam insert as an extra layer of protection. It only comes with one ratchet which is somewhat disappointing, as there are times you need smaller or larger; however, this is an entry level set so it's understandable. Also includes a small selection of screwdriver bits and a handle to hold these which is nice in that you can just take 1 set to a job. Definitely would recommend for the average user.

I bought this to start working on my car on my own and it has everything you need for diy projects to work on your car. It's high quality tool that you'll likely buy it once and use it for very long time. I've used this tool for oil change, exhaust replacements, and side mirror replacements. These little projects would have costed me hundreds of dollars to do at dealerships and auto shops. The more I use these tools, more they save you money down the line. Worth every penny!

Very well thought out tool set with plenty of sockets and features. I’ve been using the Dewalt Mechanic Tool sets for over 6 years and they’re perfect for daily professional use! The sockets, screwdriver, bits and the ratchet are all high quality and I can’t recommend this set enough!! Buy it before it gets discontinued!!

Are they top of the line pro mechanic tools? Uh no but their perfect for the price to put into my military jeep I am restoring. 60+ yrs old bound to have some nut or bolt come loose. Very nice for the price. Hell I will probably use it one or two times but if it gets me rolling again. That's all I need.

I love this set, don't get me wrong. But there are a few things I would have changed on this before giving it a 5-star "this is perfect" rating. 1. Personally I think it would have been nicer if this came with a quick release ratchet. 2. Instead of the screwdriver and bits that drive this SOCKET set up to 84 pieces by adding 17 pieces you didn't want, how about skip that and the adapter piece and add a 1/4" ratchet alongside the 3/8". Again, make it a quick release. Fact of the matter is though, it seems that the majority of these sets hike up their bragging rights number by adding pieces you neither need nor want. Those two things aside, this is a great, excellent quality set. Just be aware that if you really want a quick release ratchet, and/or would prefer to also have a 1/4" ratchet instead of using the adapter piece, then you're going to have to make an additional investment separately from this set.

I was tired of having to look through tool boxes and find sockets. My older sockets came with cloth bags or those metal strips which can be a pain at times to get off. This Dewalt case is well organized and the sockets seem to stay in place (unless you open the case upside down, then some may fall out).

I feel like this was a good purchase. When I bought my set, the price was slightly lower (floating around $50) but it's still a good buy. It comes with a wide variety of sockets sizes you'd find most commonly for light repairs or disassembly/reassembly. While the sockets aren't rated for insane torque numbers, a regular Drill Driver or lower end Impact will be alright; but it's advised you go easier on the smaller sockets. All of the pieces included are very high quality, and for a name brand it's definitely a good set to have. If you're running a full time shop it's probably not the best choice for you, but if you're doing hobby work or light professional work they should be more than adequate.

Road mechanic and this kit is the best . No issuies when it’s closed up the sockets stay put in the right spots unlike mutable others I’ve tried where it’s a complete mess I’m going to buy the bigger set next .
