This makes The Scorpions the most successful rock band of Continental Europe by far. 1979's Best of Scorpions collects the group's finest '70s material from such cornerstone early albums as Fly to the Rainbow (1974), In Trance (1975), Virgin Killer (1976) and Taken by Force (1977). The songs are raw and heavy with a large emphasis on Uli John Roth's Hendrix-like lead work, Klaus Meine's powerful vocals and Rudolf Schenker's gift for writing memorable melodic riffs.
