Learning "system"? Not for APN students or NP's. Best for PA's.
Where's the learning "system"?Not for NP's or advanced practice nursing students. This edition has many typo's. It does not offer the comprehensive and holistic perspective of the advanced practice nurse. But it's OK as a general pharm text for physician assistants.

Outdated.
Book is outdated. New guidelines make this almost useless. MOA is the same, pharmakodynamics, and pharmacokinetics are useful if that's all you need it for then it will work.

I would not recommend this book for several reasons
I would not recommend this book for several reasons. As one of the other reviews mentioned many of the recommendations are outdated. For example, accutane was discontinued in 2009. The format of the book has summaries at the beginning of each chapter, followed by bullet points for the bulk of the material (i.e. do not prescribe with NSAIDs, etc.). This textbook is set up for memorization of miscellaneous information regarding medications. I do not feel this format is appropriate for graduate level nursing. If you are looking for a broader, conceptual understanding of clinical pharmacology I would not recommend this book.

This book would be good for an undergraduate nursing program but not for an upper level or masters class. IT IS FULL of contradictions!! I think this is probably one of the worst nursing books I have ever had to buy for a class. This book gives me fits!!! Since when are A D E K water soluble? And on one section it says that - gastric acidity is generally unchanged - then says on the next page- that gastric acidity is reduced I HATE this BOOK

This book is a nightmare
This is hands down the worst educational textbook I have ever read in my life. It contradicts itself throughout. It is inconsistent. examples: (Drug clinical use: Angina.... Contraindications: Angina) It appears that it was not proof read or edited. I am in PA school learning pharmacology for the first time. Everyone in my program is extremely unhappy with this product. The format is terrible. DO NOT USE IT

There were many grammatical errors within this book. There was also conflicting information within chapters. For example, regarding blood pressure medications the information was contradictory and not clear in regards to standards of treatment for hypertension.
