I am always on the look out for 'something different'.. after finding this book I read the great reviews and decided to buy it.Amazing !! I am so impressed by the book, the idea of it is brilliant !! and when I get it back I know I will treasure it forever and it will no doubt be treasured for many years to come as its passed on throughout the coming years etc.My mum was totally amazed when she opened it at xmas and was touched that I would want to buy it and have her fill it in for me. Really I think this is one of the best things I have ever bought. Its not only a fantastic idea but the book is actually really lovely.. seems that it will last for all the years it will no doubt be read/stored etc.Really excited about getting it back all filled in - I suggested my mum give it back to me as 'my birthday present' from her in may ;) what a lovely present that would be..Wish I had found these little book's years ago - would have loved to have been able to have bought the dad one as well.If your tempted - just do it !! seriously - I cant imagine anyone being dissapointed with it.

I am known to be a bit sentimental and I have to say these books are wonderful. What better way to show your Mum you love her than to ask her to write about her life. You have space for your own messages too. In years to come when she has completed and returned this to me I will enjoy reading all the things I may never have known about her. It will be a cherished keepsake and I cannot wait to read it. I wish I had thought to do this for my grandparents before I lost them as there is so much I will never know about their lives. It really is a wonderful and thoughtful gift.

This is such a lovely present. I am expecting my first child and wanted to have something to share in later years. My mum and I are incredibly close and I know so much about her and want my son to know lots about his grandma. There are lots of different sections in here questions ranging from how she felt when she first knew she was expecting me to the name of her first pet - daft questions but still lovely to know the answers. This book has won awards and rightly so. Great gift idea and I am going to get one for my in laws too so we have a record of their life too. Thoroughly recommended.

I have recently been writing my will and so thoughts of when I die came to mind..what do I want to leave my four children. Well,they mean the world to me so I wanted to pass on some wisdom to help them in life when I have gone, so that I am always there for them. This book is a very good format for doing so. I would have liked to have done it slightly differently..there are some inappropriate questions-questions that don't fit our lives such as about their father, whom two of my children do not have any contact with. Other than that it is a very good idea. I will also be doing each child (all adults, but one) a scrapbook with their school reports, school work, things they made and some photos. It will be quite a mammoth task, but I hope to complete each one. It is also a piece of social history..I will describe the 'almost' back to back terraced house I grew up in and the outside lou...tin bath hooked behind the kitchen door - maybe the price of some items..... should be interesting..and of course my innermost thoughts of what my children mean/meant to me.

Love this book. I received two from friends for a birthday a couple of years ago and have since purchased 2 for a friend emigrating and a Dear Grandma for my sister to complete for her first grandson. The sentiment is wonderful. I remember being tearful with emotion at the thought of such a wonderful gift to pass on to my children. I also love that it's a gift that will continuously be passed on - first to me by friends, then to my kids and then hopefully to their kids. A fantastic idea.

This book is brilliant for that "awkward mum" that doesn't like jewellery, strong perfumes and has more chocolate than you can shake a stick at. Its a very sentimental item that asks a lot of questions that you never thought should be asked, but its a great way to really get to know that amazing woman so much more. My mom is my best friend and there is still so much I don't know about her! This gift was bought for mother's day, and is ideal. It does require plenty of well thought time to complete it, but the response is more than worth it! I first heard of these as a recommendation from my Boyfriends Mom, who found them in Liverpool and paid £16! I'm always using amazon for books so thought I'd see if they were cheaper. As always Amazon never fails to impress, and this little beauty cost pennies! But definitely holds a sentiment that lasts a lifetime.

I bought this for my mother as she is getting older and I have always wanted her to write her life story. Every time I have asked her she has laughed the suggestion off. So this was my way of getting her to put all her memories to paper. She calls it her homework but I am really looking forward to the day when I get it back and it has all been filled in. Not a large sized book, more an A5 size but enough space to write quite a bit on each topic. A really nice present for a mum you love.

Bought these books for my mum and mother in law for xmas. First saw the copies my aunty and uncle had been given by their grandchildren, obviously there's were the grandparents editions. The books are really nice quality. Full of questions such as 'what are your first childhood memories' and 'What music did you like when you met Dad'. A really lovely keep sake. Had a look in my mums at the weekend. Has only just started it but really emotional reading about things in her life that you would probably never think to ask about. A wonderful idea in a very good quality book. I would definately recommend it.
