Daughters comment:I received this book today in the post. I have read half of it and find it fantastic! Its exactly what I've been looking for- a motivational book on the topic of how to doodle. The images are straight forward- so they are easy to replicate. They gradually get more ornate but the book does this in a step by step method- which makes it really easy to do.It starts with how to spark creativity- something I needed badly.It shows you how to do a wide range of borders and frames on a page.How to create funky letters and numbers.Generalised doodling on nice topics like nature.There are spaces at all stages for you to practice doodling within the book.It shows the difference between pen effects- thin nib vs wide nib.How to do blind doodles- which is like a random squiggle with ornate embellisments.The use of colour to a design.Cartoon face doodles appear on page 108.Plus how to animate your doodling.Overall 143 pages of technical advice on how to plan a doodle.The best doodle book I have ever bought. I consider it professional.

I bought this book because I needed ideas for my altered book projects. There are plenty of ideas here many of which can be adapted to projects off the page if that is what you want. The range of ideas is good and you certainly can develop your own style from them. There are blank pages for you to try ideas out that are useful to keep to see where you have come from as you progress. All in all a decent book to jump start your doodling creativity. This book is probably alright if you have never doodled anything before in your life, otherwise it is pretty full of weak ideas for doodling that fill pages e.g. 10 pages devoted to doodling borders, frames or edges. I ended up doodling other things instead (which could be a positive).

I wanted to practice doodling so that I could use it when journalling and this book is absolutely fantastic in fact I would go as far as saying that I am addicted! There's lots of space to practice and even my amateurish attempts look good! A previous reviewer commented on drawing birds all the time and I know just what they mean. Would definitely recommend.

this book is much bigger then i was expecting, it has plenty of pages to do your own works of art. great pages to look at when you are stuck to what to draw, tells you how to list thoughts down by a number , combine 2 numbers and see what it tells you do do, eg number 1 a rabbit, number 5 a dog. you draw a combined picture of both, good fun for all ages. plus there is a section about other things to draw on and sew over or paint. worth every penny paid .

I was brought up never to deface a book by scribbling in it, so did my first doodle expecting someone to scold me...now I am happily doodling away in tnis great book, strange little birds now decorate a lot of the pages, thanks to the inspiration, (page 86) the pages are such quality, that my coloured pencils glide over them. I Zentangle a lot, using dedicated patterns but now I am combining what I am learning from this book, and turning out more creative art work. So glad I bought it. June Lydiate

Fearing the blank white page as much as I do it was with some trepidation that I ordered this book. I now find it difficult to put the book away and can see myself becoming a bit addicted to it.My only criticism would be that a spiral format would make it much easier to keep the book flat when using it.

Bought to try and motivate me into action. very good book, clear instructions, visually appealing and plenty of space to experiment.
