It looks well made, but...
I had a few problems when I first set this up. The feed from my Roku worked for about half a second then went blank. I read the instructions and set the output from the Roku to 1080p. It now woks fine. I had difficulty getting the feed working from the CCTV system and I again set the output to 1080p rather than auto. The picture is excellent but, there are spark lines dancing across the screen. I've not been able to improve this. Some have commented that the range of the remote was poor, I have found it OK, albeit, only a few feet from the IR receiver.I have not needed to connect a USB lead to power it, adding it did nothing, so will see how it goes. The remote looks flimsy and takes a small coin cell rather than a couple of proper AAs etc. I will not need to change inputs very often, so I don't see the remote as a problem.I have only just installed this so I can't say how reliable it will be, I will update if there are problems. All in all, it seems a well made unit, it's a pity the remote is poor.* UPDATE*Two weeks after install, one of the input ports keeps flickering and breaks up completely after a few seconds. Changing the HDMI to another port cures it, swap it back and it's unwatchable again. Left disconnected for some time before trying it again but there is a problem with one of the input ports as before. The remote has just died and will not operate the unit at all, even two feet away. I can view the led flickering on button pushes via the phone camera, perhaps something died inside the box also. I have requested a return via Amazon. It's a pity as the unit looks well made. I've ordered a different make from elswhere.

Well specified and easy to use.
Used this for routing HDMI outputs from a Sky Box and a Blue Ray player to a sound bar and then to my tv ARC.They could be connected direct to the tv and then to the sound bar via the ARC HDMI connection but most sound processing eg Dolby Atmos is lost. This product preserves all sound and picture processing, is easy to connect and in my case did not need a USB supply, running from the HDMI power. Switching is almost fully automatic with my set up, starting the BD player routes the connection immediately but the supplied (tiny - easy to lose) remote control is required to switch back - no issue. It has 5 HDMI inputs and I only used 2 so could connect other HDMI stuff easily.Up to date tv’s with eARC to the sound bar will probably not need this type of switcher to maintain sound processing.

Sockets Fail
I have bought two of these and they were okay to start with but over time the HDMI ports have been failing. It is not as if I am continually changing cables - using this box is supposed to avoid that situation. I have been using two of these for simple setups - both TVs have only two HDMI ports and I have an external Blu-Ray player connected to the TV's HDMI1 port with these switching boxes connected to the TVs HDMI2 port. The only things I have connected to each switching box are an Amazon TV Stick and an NOW TV Stick. I don't connect anything else even temporarily. Despite not abusing the ports, one box only has Ports 3 and 5 working and the other has lost Ports 1 and 2. In addition, one of the switching boxes is causing feedback and interference which didn't happen when new.

Solid product
As per title, this is a solid product. I’ve been using it for over a year now and my only “complaints” are minor usability improvements. The product itself is well made and feels like a quality product. The additional infrared sensor allows you to bury the bulk of cables somewhere and only have the small sensor visible. My suggestions for improvement:- My NowTV box / Roku device is basically an always on output. This causes a small issue if you use another input, as the device doesn’t auto switch back to NowTV, although I’ve discovered simply turning the TV off and on again causes it to automatically go back to the always on signal. Just me being lazy and saved me digging the remote out as generally I don’t need to use it.- I’d like it if the input indicators showed red if they are available, and green for the selected one. Purely for diagnosing whether my device was actually outputting, or the switch was having an issue.- Switch to display on screen when you change the selected input. If you’ve finished with an input and it’s gone ‘no signal’, after pressing ‘2’ you don’t know if it’s switched to it and there is currently no signal, or it’s still sat on the original input. All of the above are probably just down to the specific way in which I use it / expect a switch to work, and shouldn’t detract from the fact this is a good product that I would recommend.

Works well, good number of inputs, good price
After quite a few years of use, my old HDMI switch finally failed and needed to be replaced. I very nearly purchased a like for like replacement but spotted this product and thought I'd try it out instead.Performance is very good, the AV Switch works with all my set-top boxes (Sky/YouView/Fire-stick), Nintendo Wii U, XBOX One and Laptop PC. Picture ans sound quality is also good (I can't see any loss of quality) and the external IR receiver means that the box can be hidden out of the way without losing the ability to control which device input is selected.Has a good number of inputs and for the price represents good value for money.
