Review: Tactile, well-built and perfect vintage vibe in the tan colorway. - I'm no mechanical keyboard aficionado โ this is the first one I've used, probably since Mario Teaches Typing in elementary school โ but compared to a couple decades of ever-thinner Apple keyboards, this feels like such a treat to use. It's well built and sturdy, it sounds wonderful, and looks gloriously 1980s in the tan/off-white/grey and red color scheme โ it reminds me of my grandmother's 1980s "9 to 5" style office, and still looks pretty great on a desk next to a modern Apple Studio Display and MacBook Pro. And, as an added bonus, if you've gotten lazy on modern low-profile keyboards, the tall keycaps and old-standard layout are a great way to remind your hands how to type again in proper formation. The brown switches are delightful โ great, satisfyingly clicky โ but might perhaps become a little annoying for your officemate, if you have one. I'm a pro photog, and this works equally well for trucking through Lighroom/Photoshop edits and composing endless emails. Contrary to other reviews, Bluetooth connectivity and battery life seem pretty excellent one month in โ even when it "sleeps," you tap a key and it wakes a second or so later, and I charged after unboxing and haven't had to recharge after a month of daily use. Review: Great keyboard - Works like charm. HD other keychron keyboards with plastic body, but this one is metal (maybe ialuminum) feels really premium

Strong Initial Impression
After having a bad experience with the Ducky One 2 mini, I was very cautious and worried about purchasing another keyboard. The packaging is clean and by board arrived undamaged. The setup instructions pamphlet Keychron includes in the box is easy to follow along with, and switching out the 4 mac keys for their windows counterparts was a breeze. The aluminum siding is a nice touch, and adds to the already sturdy construction of the board. I am coming from Cherry mx browns, so the subtlety of the optical switches is both satisfying and much appreciated. I can definitely see this board being great for both home or office use. The optical brown switches I chose have the coveted *thonk* sound and feel you are looking for. I purchased this board in large part because it reminds me of the legendary IBM model m, and let me just say it looks every bit as good in person as it does online. Overall the K8 is a value smashing machine, and an absolute steal starting at $70. I seriously can't get over how much more I prefer this K8 over my previous Ducky mini.

A keybard that elevates your imagination
This keyboard actually makes me feel smarter. As I type on the vintage-style keys, I'm transported into the world of a clandestine operative in a high-stakes mission control scenario reminiscent of classic spy films from the 80s. With just seconds ticking away, I find myself racing against the clock to input the crucial code that will activate the bridge, allowing our field agent to slip through in his speedboat.
