Brennenstuhl Garant cable reel 20m H05VV-F 3G2,5 *GB*

I got a paint sprayer for painting the garden fence. Unfortunately the cable on the sprayer was not long enough to reach the fence and I needed to buy a cable reel. I chose this product because of its predominantly good reviews. My husband used it yesterday and was very pleased with it. It is well made and very sturdy and at 25m it is a good length. We will be able to use it for other purposes as well so it is sure to be handy. It is made in Germany and this reassured me that it would be a good quality. My husband says that after using it, it was very easy to wind the cable back in - an important point. Overall this is a decent quality cable reel and I would buy it again.

This extension lead arrived quickly and was well packaged.. After removing it from the box I was pleased to see the clip securing the plug and cable to the frame. The feel of the item is good the winding process is easy and smooth.. the trip out function works correctly.. for the price this is a very good and reliable item.. highly recommended

Well made sturdy and good for my purposes, use around the house and garden. I bought over black Friday so got excellent value for money but would certainly consider RRP to be ok.Haven't used it outside in poor weather but it's got circuit breakers and flaps covering the plug points so would expect it to handle those situations fine.

I like this product. Unlike my previous 50m extension cable:1) It does not tangle when rewound onto the spool2) I can rewind it without scraping mu knuckles on the ground.3) it is well made4) There are flaps over each of the socket outlets to help weatherproof it.What could be improved?a) I would like to see a small LED light - to tell me that it is liveb) I would like the sockets to move independently of the reel itself (so that I can keep tools plugged in whilst adjusting the length). Is this possible design wise?In conclusion - I don't think you can go wrong with this extension reel for use outside or in where a longer length is needed.

After trying for some time and failing to find ANY extension cables made in the UK, I turned instead to this high quality, made in Germany brand.This is a good quality reel. Has a feeder to prevent that incredibly annoying thing of the cable getting tangled round the outside of the drum, and a little plastic clip to hold the plug in place. Despite being a cheaper model from the Brennenstuhl range, this still feels very solid with its metal frame and high quality plastics. Plugs are tight fitting and dust covers protect. Comes with ratings shown for reeled and unreeled so you know when you have to unwind it or not.It could be improved by having a rotating winder handle to avoid friction and being stiffer to wind in and out as it can spin up by going too fast. Good quality item, though.

This extension reel feels so much better quality than ones ive owned in the past. Be sure to hide from your tradesmen as from past experience mine have gone walkabout when having work done on the house. This only has 3 plug sockets but tbh how often do you need 2, let alone 3. The reel works well, and its easy to reel cable in which is a timesaver.

Good. I can speak from experience that the safety cut-out works. It trips at over 13A. Do take the instruction to unwind the cables seriously - they get hot at high load.==UpdateA word of warning, on a lesson I learnt the hard way - had I known about this, it would have saved me much trouble and time:Due to the length of the reel, the voltage drop can be significant. I had a portable air con hooked up to this, and it keep consistently tripping the safety cut-out shortly after the compressor starts. In a normal situation, the air con draws about 10A of current. When hooked to the reel, it started drawing more than 13A of current. As it draws more current, the voltage drops from 236V to 219V. I am given to understand that a voltage drop may induce greater current draw.So if you are using the reel with an appliance with high current draw, the voltage drop could cause an increase in current draw.This is no fault of the reel; it is just an incidence of the length of the cabling. So I am not dinging any stars.

Bought this extension lead for our Christmas lights and it was perfect for the job. 50 metres long and well made. Very good for the price.
