How is the lid attached?

There are three lugs in the lid (I think this is the right way round) with holes in them and in the base, there are three pips (that's the only word I can think of to describe them). The pips fit into the holes in the lugs on the lid. Be careful when using these! We stopped using them when we found out that ground beetles and other beneficial insects were drowning in them.

Not really working for me!!!

I have only caught two slugs so far, its costing me a fortune in beer!!! Meanwhile my plants continue to be eaten by slugs. We have reverted to the old fashioned method......hunting for them with a torch late at night!!!

Sturdy and does not have to cost a lot to fill

Product was easy to place in soil and fill with beer that a supermarket sells for 69p. Haven't caught a slug yet so being patient.

Effective slug and snail control

These are great and very effective, I have been using them for years and wouldn't use anything else - I don't and won't use slug pellets as they are harmful to birds and animals including hedgehogs. I use the cheapest cans of bitter (4 for £1.00) and am always surprised at how many slugs and smaller snails are in them each time I empty them (the larger snails can't get in so well). These are more robust that some other makes that are on sale - I am very pleased with my purchase.
